Who is too young to be the mom of a 18 year old?

Like this happens lots. What is up with 25-30 year old actresses playing the role of mom of teens? Like what? One of them was 29 when it was filmed and she was playing mom to an 18 year old who was actually 24 when it was filmed so unless you got your period at age 4 and were raped, how am I supposed to buy this crap? Sure, she might look older but she's not and you can tell by her mannerisms! They're bloody the same age. is it normal this gets under my skin? I basically shout at the screen. This has happened in like 6 movies I've seen this yr.

    Yes, that's annoying. It's tough for a middle aged actress to find any good roles, and now even those are played by girls. Another phenomenon is that the son is usually shorter than the father even if they're both adults. Genetics in movies don't make much sense. And when they start mentioning dates and numbers they never add up. Oh, and male actors under 30 can only play teenagers.
