Fangirls do this mostly but these people can ruin anything. Name anything in the world and they will turn it into something sexual. Pokemon SEX! Dog FURRY! Power-puff girl Girl all grown up. Invader zim ALIEN PORN! MLP CLOPPERS. It just amazes me how people can ruin everything so easily.
It is pretty interesting how people can sexualise anything so easily. More surprising when they can sexualise child-oriented media (cartoons and comics).
But I don't mind. I think it's fascinating our brains are capable of such wild forays of the imagination. And I think each to their own - sexual diversity makes the world more exciting.

They turned a perfectly happy word: "gay" into a word we can't use without the sexual connotation. Recently, I haven't been able to use the words "rubber" or "ball" without reaction from people. They could make a whole perverted dictionary!

The reason they change the meaning of words like that is because people like that might have that trait. Gay meaning happy. Since when we think of gays we think of flamboyant happy people. Which from my experience personally a lot of them do seem to come off as super friendly.
It's not ruined, it's improved! Sex was glossed over in the original material, but clearly it has a place in the world. Take Pokëmon for instance. You can breed Pokëmon, right? Some of them seem to be intelligent, so how is that not sex? You've got all these, monsters, some intelligent, some almost godlike, and they're letting 10-year-olds tell them who/what to have sex with. That's pretty strange already, you have to admit. Some people just think that theme is under explored and want to imagine more about how it works.
When everyone (at least in this thread) thinks of Pokemon, their minds immediately go to the 10 year old protagonists. But what about all the adult, even elderly, Professors/Gym Leaders/Champions/Evil Organization Bosses/etc, etc?
Personally, when I want to fantasize about the Pokemon franchise, I think of all the scrumptious DILFs and GDILFs that make up the supporting cast. Koga, Norman, Byron, Palmer, Giovanni, Pryce, Alder, hell even good ol' Professor Oak isn't safe from my dirty fangirl mind!

MLP(My little pony fans) who like watching the pony's kill, rape, eat and just have consensual sex with each other. They will make such fan fictions as "Cupcake" and have been blocked from a number of websites.
"Cupcake" is where pinny goes insane makes some cupcakes filled with date rape drugs and starts dissecting ponies and eating them alive or "Rainbow factory" where they kill pony's in a factory to make a rainbow.
A rainbow factory is actually included in the series but I am not sure it works like they say it does in the Fan-fiction. Apparently when they gave guys the right to watch the show it opened it up for all these sick perverts.

Furries though seem commonly associated with perversion but that's not always the case.

You mean like sonic? Furry is a fetish. Though it is a broad term that covers a number of things. Like Kinky seems to be a blanket term for a number of fetishes and sexually bizarre behavior.
Furries are not just a fetish. That is the stereotype though. People are furries for all kinds of reasons, but fetish's are common. Some of them are mascots, entertainers, or people who just like to dress up.
My character is an evolved cat from the future. I started doing it before I even knew what furries were. It started as a Halloween costume and I continued wearing it for shows with my band and whenever else I feel like it. I've also worn it to my dj gigs, volunteering at group homes on Christmas, parties, while working as the icecream man last summer and even to jury duty. It's fun and makes people smile. I have no interest in fucking a mascot. I went to a furry convention last fall to see what it was all about and I will say there was some perverted stuff going on there, but there were lots of people who did it for a variety of other reasons too.
