Is it normal im not sure what bird night-wing is suppose to be?

I know robin as a boy is suppose to be a robin. With the signature red chest and his cape being black from the back like the feathers of a robin. However I cant seem to figure out what night-wing is suppose to be. I was going for sparrow.

    A common black hawk.

    • Interesting, I did not consider that.

I think it might be a sparrow too or perhaps even a raven.

    • Well I don't know if they would make it a raven. Since they have another character called raven. Which is a girl. A character featured in "Teen titans" and "The titans" issue. Though a blue bird being a raven vs a sparrow would make a bit more sense.

Perhaps, it is still a homage to the bat? "Nightwing", bats have wings and fly at night.

        • But the design is clearly a bird. Bats don't have feathers.

Okay. Perhaps, it really is an Osprey?

It must not be a Sparrow because, Sparrows have very unique tails feathers and they are quite dainty looking.

That's right! I completely forgot about Teen Titans. There might be a wikia for his character. If there is, it should say what type of bird he is based on. For some reason, an osprey keeps coming to mind but, that's probably not right either.

        • Well everything I found just keeps giving history and I haven't been able find anything on the bird. I know the background for Robin and Night-wing.

I think it's some kind of duck.

    • Why would he go from a robin to a duck?

I was just thinking of the real nightwing in the animal world, not the cartoon invention. That's a kind of duck.

Wasn't it "Duckwing". Donald Duck used to have an vigilante alter-ego. If I'm remembering correctly, he had a show in the 90's and there were some video games that were based on it.

Ah! So, was he was villain or just a water fowl copy of Bathman?

I believe it was so! I wanted so badly to be the alter-ego but I was not accepted in my human form. And so I must exist in this state.

Squirrel in repose, slightly shame-faced at the angle of the tail.

        • I am talking about the superhero that robin turned into.

Ah, then I have misjudged the situation by talking about real life. May my apologies fly to you on the wings of a thousand nightwings.

    • No you can clearly see the design on his suit is a bird not a bat.
