Is it normal im feel so weak?!

I have quite a large build, im 6'4". I used to work on a building site as a labourer (hard work mind you!), I went to the gym 6 times a week, when I was working. I would go to the gym for 2 hours a day. I done this for about 6-8 months (I was fairly weak) but for some reason I didnt see any development. I was stuck lifting 40Kg/82Lbs I couldn't increase the weight it hurt my shoulders. I was just so pathetic and weak. My bones are very strong, I had a bone density test and mine was very high, so it wasnt that.

Its now been 1 year since I last went to the gym, ive been doing press ups and situps. I started at 10 pressups, im now on 40 as a limit. But im just stupidly weak, I feel like a gentle breeze can knock me out.

IIN????

So you're 6'4" and you say you have a large frame but are you a big guy or really skinny ? I'd think if you were a big/fat guy you'd build some muscle if you lifted and i know it can be hard for really skinny people to put in muscle mass. I'd suggest checking out some forums and get advice on proper training and eating habits.

It could be your diet if you're not getting enough protein and nutrients. I really undercut my calorie intake with food which contained crap nutrients and while ai did a lot of cardio I could tell my strength suffered from the lack of nutrients and not lifting weights.

A very informative website I used to go on with really good advice was called johnstonefitness dot com, you should check it out if you're serious about getting in shape. Good luck !

Im not skinny. My BMI is bang on Normal, but you can see my ribs and my hip bones protrude out quite abit, but i think thats genetic. My diets semi-crap. I live with my girlfriend, she does the shopping and only gets me 5 apples to last me all week. She eats more or less, what every single girl i know does. She eats shit all day, and chows down on a salad for dinner or she goes days without even eating, she does cook some meaty things though, but she only likes cooking chicken which isn't as protein rich as beef in my opinion. When I went to the gym i had an intake in one sitting of 1 protein bar, and 2 pint glasses of a protein shake, I think it amounts to 50g+ of protein there and then. People said I'd get diarrhea, i never did.

Thanks for the reply, I'll check out that website.

Some people tend to grow their muscles easier, some don't. Just give it time and be consistent. I, as a girl, go through hell to gain even a little mass, it takes me months to gain while guys just lift for a week and get bigger. Don't be a pussy, shut your lifting ego and just keep working even if it's with smaller weights than you'd like.

So what. So WHAT if bodybuilding nor liftin' any ways isn't it for you... Hence your shoulders, be glad you are alive and being well.. (Hopefully?)..

Why feel weak just because something didn't go your way, you said you worked a very hard job?.. Man that takes alot in general, and needs tons of practice too
