Is it normal if my boyfriend is paranoid?

My boyfriend hates me talking to other boys and i could be friends with the other boys years and he still doesn't want me talking to them, he even doesn't like me to go talk with the girls in clubs he follows me around the clubs and if i'm going on a girls night he makes sure he head out with his friends to the same club, i can't seem to have any privacy from him he went into my emails to see what i was doing on them, he checks my Facebook messages and texts to see who i'm talking to whenever a boy from college adds me, as my course is mostly boys, he asks who are they why do you have them on Facebook. Is it normal for a boy to do this, never seen this kinda thing before?

He's insecure. Trust what er have all said. I would suggest leave him, these guys usally turn out to become aggressive/violent and start to cry and scream at you like a child.

Trust me it will happen. LEAVE HIM BEFORE ITS TO LATE! RUN TO THE HILLS! AND IF HE IS COMING FROM THE HILLS THEN RUN AWAY FROM THE HILLS!!!!

    • You're half right here.

Possessive behaviour like this can be indicative of two types of person, but both happen to be opposite kinds of people.

      1. Most possessive people like this are the insecure type who fear they'll lose their partner, they are NOT violent.

      2. But the ones who are violent are straight up narcs, they are possessive through their need to control their partners and everyone else around them. This need comes not from insecurity but the opposite, a god complex.

I say this because alot of guys who fit into the first category get unfairly treated as thought they belong to the second.

It's important to know the difference as one is misunderstood and needs help, the other however, is beyond change and quite dangerous at times.

True. Also while trust seems to be the issue, try giving yourself the side of the story. Honestly. You don't have to tell us, but ask yourself if you did ANYTHING at all to prompt his untrusting attitude?

He still shouldn't do the things he does, but you're only giving us the result which may be of your actions

        • I'm giving you the two types of people relevant to the OPs story, that is all. I'm showing the vast difference between them and their reasons for behaving the way they do.

"but you're only giving us the result which may be of your actions"

This however, is not even a real sentence.

She performed an action or actions, such as maybe telling him about being unfaithful in the past, by being a little"too" friendly with male friends or in an argument she either included her male friends by calling or just leaving and defaulting to them. As a RESULT he doesn't fully trust her, in this case, because of her.

I wasn't making a comment towards youor trying to modify your comment I simply agreed with you and decided to give my part as well because of the convenient

            • I mean it isn't structured as a real sentence.

But yes, I know what you mean, and I agree that she is a little at fault there.

If you want to be with him, talk to him about it. He probably does feel like you can do better than him or whatever. There is no trust though...that's for sure. He might've been deceived before. Reassure him that you only want him. If he doesn't change, let him go. I just think it's trust issues. I was curious with my bf about the same things but I later got over it once he reassured me it was just me and him.

If he gets violent, get out immediately. No second chances, nothing.

But try to be patient if he's just insecure and he's worth it. If its causing so many problems on a daily basis, end it. He needs to grow up, and your relationship should be a happy one, not something that makes you constantly frustrated or sick.

If you don't want to leave him tell him about it and ask hi to stop. This is usually the sign of insecure guy and guys like this can often become violent and abusive in future because they think they "own" you.

Like the other said above me he is insecure. All his fears have nothing to do with you it had to do with him. He obviously thinks he is not good enough for you if feels threatened by other guys. And he clearly do not trust you either. My advice, is RUN, RUN, RUN! You cannot have a healthy relationship when one party is that insecure and lacks trust. Without trust there can be no love. He thinks you are his possession and is treating you like such. You don't belong to anybody. You are your own person and you deserve your privacy, space and you have the right to be yourself and have fun with your friends and talk to whoever you want. I had a boyfriend like this and I eventually just left him. My boyfriend now has no issue with me doing whatever I please and I can tell him anything without worrying about him being upset or jealous. It makes for a more enjoyable, easier relationship when you both truly trust each other and are secure with yourselves and with your relationship. Good luck to you.

Tell him to stop his insecurity bullshit or you're gone. The more he keeps doing this the more likely you're going to get fed up with it to where you wont want to be with him.

He sounds majorly insecure. But as to advice to fix this behavior try telling him to trust you and that you love him. That's really all I got.
