Is it normal if men are ashamed of being men?

I think they must be if they look around at the the mayhem that men produce. Raping, murdering, having sex with babies etc. Aren't men ashamed of being the hugest part of this? At all?

It's kind of true. Look at it with unbias eyes, men. Militant / hate groups in other countries, as well as our glorious trigger happy president who started a war, with no regard for human life, yes, sexual assaults as well. Can any unbiased person actually argue the statistical facts? The molestation in this country, by grandfathers, dads, male siblings, that creepy boy down the street? The rape and degradation of women in countries where men feel so threatened, empowered, and so fearful that women can actually LEAVE them, simply by driving? The jealousy men hone, to the point of wanting their wives to not work, stay at home raising their children, so they can have solace in imprisonment of women and all the while they want to go about their suburban (depraved) lives and have affairs? But dare they are wronged, in the same manner. The violence and arousal for destruction; every guy I know who joined the Marines - blatantly claiming how much they want to use their weapon and "take out" X people in X departures. The torture Hitler, Charles Manson, Dahmer (the list goes on) are no match to any heinous crimes in history, pertaining to women. Read about the tragedy in Jonestown, read about Mob lives and the crime and acts committed, look at any cartels and their most wanted and successful criminal drug lords, hell, even search KILL and MURDER on this website, and you will find it is 80-90% men.. Look up pedophilic anything on this site, alll men. Now tell me, does it compare? Even a little?

Elaboration; even recent tragedies like random shootings, all men. Every single one. Now, not to say ALL men are "bad", but the overwhelming majority of people committing crimes and historically atrocious, devious, pure malice and most malicious of all? Men. Yes, everyone can be capable of unspeakable things/thoughts, but men being the perpetrators of actually commiting such acts and at such high, HIGH RATES, it's unbelievably overwhelming. It does lead one to wonder. We know science, evolution, but senseless crime, as if men cannot live without destruction and empowerment attained through means of sexual crimes, murders, serial killer status and brutal methods...it makes me shake my head on a daily basis, when I read the news, watch it, or even worse, converse with my own "kind" and feel like an alien for NOT agreeing with the usual bar banter, or hear more stories of infidelity and other acts I would never partake in. Ever since I was young, my older brother's and guy friends just are deviant by nature. Coming from rural america, to BIG city -- it is always this same base, internally. Big city, business guys? Now I find the worst; All of this? It is not a debate. It's fact. If you don't agree, you become a "sissy" and mentally (back handed) bullied for not joining the evil-sheep. As I consider it. I'll stay a sissy. A sissy who is very observant. Behavior in genders are not even CLOSE to comparing, it's pointless to try. Women are chastised for being TOO emotional and "bleeding hearts" in one bias debate, yet oh so evil to jaded men, in the next bias debate.
When guess what? A man will use manipulation tactics their entire life to cover for their wrong actions, demise as a moral person, excuses, lies and lackadaisical attempts at being respectful and respected. Hence my fellow species above and all over this post, with nothing to say, aside from you must be bias and a one worded pun. Oh that makes sense and my point valid.

I was all riled up by the title and ready to tell you you were wrong.

Then I read the rest of it and realised you were a pathetic excuse for a ttoll so I won't bother going into why this post is retarded, because you considered just how to make it super retarded and upset people when you wrote it. Silly troll.

No. Men didn't cause rape and murder, rapists and murderers caused rape and murderer. It doesn't make sense to feel ashamed of being a man because a tiny minority of men do awful things (just as it doesn't make sense for a woman to be ashamed of being a woman for the same reason).

Are you that ignorant, to reality and fact? Tiny majority? Just today; A U.S. soldier shot dead three people and injured at least 16, today, before taking his own life at an Army base in Fort Hood, Texas, the site of another deadly rampage in 2009, U.S. officials said. The third mass shooting taking place in an army base, in just 6 months. -- So, even as recently as good ol' today, a man and fellow male shooter; stand up, go off shooting and killing more people. That's just a small taste of what these trigger happy, deviant morons do, right before their cowardly act of suicide... one sole gender commiting the act, AGAIN. Like I said, everytime I hear a heinous act, there's a man/men behind it. Not to leave out the overwhelming amount of historic crime and the entire majority of any crime pertaining to said assaults and heinous crimes are men and it is not a tiny majority.. So even in just one of many facets, shootings, all men. Every single one. All recent, as well. Just like my posts above. Sorry to hate my own, but realistically, it's just so evident in every new tragedy, men are the greater cause of destruction, aroused by destroying/destructive behavior, always following cowardly acts. Hmmm... Not surprised reading this.

You missed the entire context of this post and debate. Which is hardly any debate, when it is facts vs male bias.
90% of crime, murder to be exact, in the last quota alone, all men. Men commited 90% of all murders that took place. That in itself is prevalent. Sexual crime, as well. Same, if not solely; which even being proven, it doesn't account for unreported acts that take place every single day. All over the world. As stated, to hate my own may seem odd, but it's the actions, committed, by my "own", that disgusts me. As well as anyone arguing facts, it's all men, with nothing to say, besides chastising the OP. Go figure.
No one said men are ALL murderers, but 90% of just one countries murders taking place, all being at the hands of men, in the US, alone. That's gender specific and very telling. Sexual crimes are just as bad, as is the make up of individuals who commit the crime.

So what? Why would that make men ashamed of being men, because some men do bad things? Should black people be ashamed of being black just because black people disproportionately commit crime? Young people ashamed of being young because young people disproportionately commit crime? Should people be ashamed of being people? The whole "I should be ashamed because of something someone else did" thing is ridiculous.

You denied that a tiny minority of men were rapists and murderers. I'm not going to crunch numbers to prove that only a tiny minority of men are terrible criminals. It's on you to educate yourself about the extent of crime.

It is not on me to "educate the extent of a crime", when I already know and have, when it's not my job, just being educated regarding an issue in question -- and without any bias because of my gender being the sole perpetrator. It's up to YOU to be educated, since you're only 18, before you throw your two cents in something of this nature. You claim you "study" something, you have no idea, "the extent of".
              Offenders --
[1] Males committed the vast majority of homicides in the United States alone, representing 90% of the total number of offenders. [2]
Young adult black males had the highest homicide offending rate compared to offenders in other racial and sex categories (40% of black males arrested by the age of 23, 40% of white males, by the age of 23) [3]
White females of all ages had the lowest offending rates of any racial or age groups.
              Victims --
Children under 5 killed by someone other than their parent, 80% were killed by males.

Females were most likely to be victims of domestic homicides (63.7%) and sex-related homicides (81.7%)

So in proven fact, men committing murder and sexual assault, solely against children and women; In men murdering men; it was gang-related.
As well as the % of murder by female in cases of children under 5, were all cases of negligence/accidental cause. As well as the crimes men committed were with premeditation and malleolus/sexual assault coincided, nearly EVERY case, especially involving a child.

              And this is just fact, not even touching the predatory nature of men and what they do/have done, outside of a spread-sheet of arrests and reported crimes. To say anyone 'should not' feel shame, just because of what others do, is only slightly relevant, as people DO tend to/will feel shame for other's actions.. Which is sad. But when it's large numbers and actions that make an entire race/gender, look terrible/ perceived just the same. It is obvious, there's a formula and shame being present;
This is prevalent when you hear a hard working black male/female, constantly arguing a case they shouldn't need to and trying to prove they are not going to commit a crime; based on stereotype, this is prevalent when a girl(s) cannot walk the street, alone at night, because she/they are petrified they will be raped/mugged/murdered, this is prevalent when those who were molested or raped, live in fear/fear this specific gender who traumatized them and struggle with that trauma, their entire life. When young kids are literally taught in school to stay away from "strangers" and the stranger-danger code is implied so incessantly. This is because it is NOT a 'tiny' majority of males committing all said acts, the large, vast amount, is exactly why kids are taught this, in school and exactly why parents fear it's not safe for the children, simply walking home in their own neighborhood. When it's not "paranoia", it's proven and on a daily basis, it isn't a question, it's just a matter of time before you hear more/see more; Even as I watch the news now, this man, 51, who murdered his wife and kidnaped a family's daughter; Relisha Rudd (from a homeless shelter) is being discussed. Everytime I comment, trust me, there's a new tragedy that can be filled in. Every single day. Abuse, rape, molestation, murder; Heinous crimes are far from scarce; constant occurrences. Don't use "tiny" majority. I can name a list so long, of perverse acts/thoughts/abusive nature etc just regarding my brothers alone; Add Friends, co-workers, classmates and every guy friend throughout my entire life, all have their share of deviance that'd knock a naïve girl out of her shoes, if she knew what guys think are prone to act like. You don't know people's lives, their dirty laundry, don't assume you know what the majority is, at 18 or what a victim experiences in silence. I don't want to feel shame for my own or myself, due to others. But it is unavoidable, and I have a conscious and respect for victims of any crime.

You think women don't rape, murder, or molest children? You think women are all dainty victims free of doing wrong? Stop blaming an entire group for the actions of some people. You should be ashamed if you're a rapist, not if you're a guy. You should have guilt over the deplorable actions that you've committed, not over something that you have no control over.

Such an ignorant girl you must be. It is a fact that women can be much more vicious than men. It is said that behind every powerful man there is an even more powerful woman, so what does that do to your statement?
As a man hater, I'm guessing you don't have too many friends, male or female.

It's stupid to blame an entire gender for the crimes of a few sick bastards. Also as many of the other commentators have pointed out there are women who do terrible things in society as well. Men don't have a monopoly on criminal behavior.
