Is it normal if i've lost my drive to push myself?

I've always been very driven. Currently training for 3 major competitions for 2017..maybe a 4th. Also have a goal to be a certified personal trainer. Bought the course and have studied very little...took me a couple weeks to actually pick the book up because work has been crazy. (family business summer is our busy season) I took a week off from the gym for the first time in over a year, just a solid week. That has now turned I to two because I adopted new pets so I've been tending to them. I'm finding it hard to find my motivation to get back into my training/diet regimen and even study my book. I read part of the chapter and I withhold no info it's as if I didn't even read it. I have no drive to push myself to train or study. Am I just too burnt out from pushing myself for so long?

My daughter is a serious athlete. Competes provincial and has been to 3 european countries playing U16. She also gets this tendency to slack off. She will say things like why must she train harder because she will win. She was training 3 hours per day, and 6 hours during hell weeks. So what the coaches did is make her train with the 18 year old boys (age group older than her) because it will push her to keep up. Perhaps you need to train with someone stronger/older/more advanced than you and let your ego push you to overcome this stumbling block, as it seems to be more mental than anything.

Good luck. End of the day no one can make you do it. Only yourself.

If you train heavily in the gym its good to take a solid week off after about a year or so but everyone is different. However no longer then a week so you better get your ass back in the gym before you lose your gains.

There's a guy on YouTube named Brandon Carter he's a personal trainer and motivational. Highly recommended.

It's not normal in this culture that you ever had it, so losing it means you're just more likely to fit in. Congratulations on joining the herd.
