Is it normal if i only like to work out after consuming?

I'll start working out a little bit after drinking milk, eating granola bars, cookies, coffee, sweet bread, basically carbs. Before, I feel lazy, not wanting to work out when I know I have to tonight, i.e., as a part of my routine. Part of it could be mentally because its like "Oh man I feel fat, gotta work out!" and I start doing jumping jacks and what not. But I feel more motivated cause I actually feel chubby, not just know I am. If I don't feel fat and feel fine, Im not gonna work out. If I do, I get up and start running.

Don't you get cramps or a stomach ache? Seems a bit counter productive. If you just work out without gorging yourself first you may feel more inclined to just work out. It releases 'feel good' endorphines, so skip the big meal and just work out. Youl feel better, or at least you should.

Knew a woman took a walk every night after dinner to walk it off.
Yep it's a way to think pretty normal.

  • Me too. I don't feel as perky without a little somethin-something in my belly and a little glycogen in my bloodstream. I work out for the long-term benefits, not just the calorie expenditure of that particular workout.

I hate working out on an empty stomach. I usually eat some kind of meal an hour or so before working out. It's probably just a mental thing but I feel as if I can get more reps overall more energized.
