Is it normal if i lived alone..

I would never get up? (Besides the obvious - buying food, work etc.) On days off work when no one is home I don't do anything. I'll sleep and/or stare at the wall all day. I just don't care about anything. I only get up to let my dog out and to rush around the house doing a few chores to make it look like I was doing something that day. I've lied on the couch till 4pm without getting up once to do anything. (Use the bathroom, eat, get a drink.) I was a little ashamed one day when someone came home from work and I was still lying down in the dark.

  • There's not much context here so I wouldn't know if it any pertinent facts were missing or not. But here's some general advice-

Get a plan. Man in his natural state is a thing that can only be spurred into action by threatening their self-interest. Most never have the ambition to excel all their own.

    "You're looking down on him"

No I'm not. He's going through what I once did.

I hate this site sometimes. Is it better to slap someone across the face and make them realize they're about to fall into a trap? Or to plaster a smile on your face and tell them everything is okay (since it's what they want to hear) as they begin to fall in?

Is it better to help people, or to serve yourself and have the appearance of someone who helps but really doesn't? The latter sickens me. It is weakness.

Sounds like symptoms of depression. Depression can be debilitating, its more than simply being sad it can cause lethergy which is what you are describing. It feels like a weight around your ankles trying trying to accomplish day to day needs. Preparing a meal, cleaning ,daily hygiene. The sooner its treated the easier it is to learn to live with it.

I think it's fairly normal to spend free time lazing about watching telly / surfing the internet and not getting any of that lovely sunshine on your skin. Not necessarily brilliant psychologically or physically, but pretty common I'm sure.

If you're unhappy with this, think about trying a hobby that'll get you out of the house. Something stimulating, whether it be intellectually, socially or physically. Just something you find fun and rewarding :)

    • Well, I don't really do anything literally..I woke up at 9am, then went back to sleep and it's almost 2pm. I do try to do things sometimes but they're not really fun anymore just annoying.

Ya you might want to start moving around. Lazy is not awesome. Maybe you will that when its too late. Enjoy nothingness.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who did this.. Kind of creepy reading it, like I might of posted this once but forgot about it.

Anyways, yeah. I also do this. About every day I don't have to go to school. After a while it makes you feel pretty useless and pathetic, so it's not ideal.. But I can't seem to stop with it either.

Ohwell, we all have our flaws.

I don't see anything inherently wrong with it. If you don't, then why worry? It might be depression or might just be what your particular body and mind need.

I can see myself living that type of lifestyle if I ever get enough time off.

I do enjoy the days where I can lay in my bed all day so I completely understand but I do like to get out and do stuff too. You should try it. (:

You might want to go for a walk or a jog and excersice, because you'll get fat and then it would be too late and you really can't do anything.
