Is it normal if i like listening to creepy music?

Lately, I noticed that I find myself listening to either soundtracks from horror movies or horror anime. I usually listen to a certain rock band but I just realized I also like listening to these soundtracks. Am I losing my mind?

I love horror music; it makes me feel like I'm at home in Halloween Town.

Have you heard the Vocaloid song "Calalini"? The intro sounds like something out of a horror game, but what's really disturbing about it is that it's inspired by a true story..

Same, but that doesn't sound so creepy...
do you know boards of canada? some people say it's creepy but i just think it's relaxing... otherworldly...
also i always loved the Lavender town song as a kid but sadly now it's just a meme or whatever...
and things like "backwards radio station", number station like gong and chimes, etc. i think it sounds really cool and strangely relaxing

Songs that start out with a quiet and slow instrumental part sound kinda creepy to me, but I like listening to it. Same with songs that remind me of certain time periods.

    Sure it is.

Have you ever listened to Tool?

They have some incredible, gripping songs that take you some place that is very very far away. It's something else, I don't really know what word to use to describe it exactly. Some of their music videos are really sickening to watch, at least for me anyway.

      Maynard is a fantastic singer.

Alright, what's your angle here? Is there something I am missing or do you really like the band?

        • I like Tool, A perfect circle and puscifer. I'm also a big fan of the late Bill Hicks, whom much of tools works are based on.

I listen to all his bands, so does my little brother, so does my older brother.

          No trick, no angle.

            Fair enough I suppose.

I am not familiar with Bill Hicks. I have heard of him before though.

How would you describe Tools music?

Apparently you're unaware that 'spook' means 'nigger'.

      • Well actually it is an old slang name for Agents or people involved in espionage.

Well before the urban dictionary crap that anyone can make up at will.

It's been used as a racial slur since the 40's or before.

Back to the Future references the term:

white guy to black guy: "Hey, beat it spook, this don't concern you!"

(4 more black guys get out of car)

          "Who you callin spook, peckerwood?"

          • Shut up Marty!

It's more commonly used for Agents or people involved in espionage though, as that isn't a racist term.

If you want to keep calling yourself 'part spook', that's fine. I was just trying to help. Helping people makes me part gay.
