Is it normal if i like dressing down a lot more than dressing up?

I don't see the point of dressing up. I mean, I much rather dress in my old clothes and leave my hair down until it starts getting in the way instead of cutting it short or fohawking it like every other guy out there. I haven't shopped in a while and frankly, I don't care! I love dressing casual (sweatpants!) and hate wearing dress shirts and pants or suits and ties even though people have complimented that I look "hot" in them. This includes other stylish clothing too or expensive brand names like Gucci and stuff or nice watches and belts, they're not important to me. Some people want to look good all the time, like even going as far as dressing in clean new clothing to play ball or something, why?! I see a lot of people do this, so am I not normal?

Yes this is normal. We all have different styles and tastes. I actually prefer dressing up as opposed to dressing down.

    • Hmm is it more comfortable to you or it makes you feel cleaner or something else? I feel like dressing down makes me more comfortable and less a chance to be noticed and one with the crowd so all around more comfy.

I find it more comfortable to wear a suit, and yes it does make me feel cleaner and somewhat more attractive.

Of course thats normal. It's just that 'those guys' with short hair, have bills to pay and a family to feed. So if that means they need to cut their hair, then so be it. Hell i bet every single one of us would want to 'dress down' as you called it, but frankly, I cant, I have to make a living.

    • Thats true! I wasn't thinking in a large enough spectrum when I thought of dressing up to just look nice. Yes but besides that in terms of professionality and work, why do guys go so hard to dress up nice to say school or hanging out with the friends?
