Is it normal if i don't want to get a tatto because its a trend?

I've always wanted one since middle school, and little by little I've added to it. I plan to get it in the future when I am more independent. Why the hesitation? Well, first because of my career. I don't want it to get in the way of my goals and where I want my tattoo and how big it is...oh yeah they'll notice and I don't want to change it to another. Second, because everyone has one now because its "in" so I feel that me getting it looks like I'm just trying to fit in. Omg! I just came up with an idea, I should get a tattoo that says "I've always wanted a tattoo so leave me alone" or something since I can't just go up to someone and say that. But anyways, that's why I'm hesitating to get one and it sucks because I really want it. Perhaps I shouldn't let anyone get in the way of my desires, but then again dealing with the hating is not my forte.

    Dude! You care way way way too much about what other people think. It's just a tattoo. Do what you want to do.

    If you want it then get it. Don't let it being 'in' prevent you from doing something that you want, don't sweat the little things.

    You don't need to explain it to people anyway. You want it, get. I was not aware that it was an 'in' thing. So is a lot of other stuff. Do you wear trendy clothes like mostly everyone else? Or get your hair cut the 'new style' or anything like that? I wouldn't worry about your wanting a tattoo. Especially if its original, how can it be the 'in' thing?

    Get off your high horse and just get it. I got a packers tat right when I turned 18...of course now that they won the superbowl, everyone that sees it thinks I got it after they won that. It's really not that bad to deal with.

    Man dont get a tattoo just because everyone else is..Get a tattoo becaue you WANT one..
    And pick something with a MEANING to YOU..

    For someone to specifically take or refrain from taking certain actions in order to AVOID fitting in, when genuine, is certainly not normal. You are not a normal person. It is up to you to decide if this is a desirable state of being or not.

    You get it if you really want it... not of what others think of you.. You shouldnt care if its "in" or not... nor should your friends.. its your life, do what you want..
