If I play videogames I try to be as violent as possible, I can cut off limbs, burn people alive and stuff like that, because it is completly not real and feels so.
BUT, when I see movie or photo violence I just can't stand it. Even the detention part in Harry Potter and the order op phoenix made me cringe
Is it normal?
For me, it's the other way around. I don't necessarily cringe, but I handle it more in video games.
Im like that too, i love GTA:SA, especially when im wanted, but i abhor real-life violence. As long as you dont have a desire for real volence, you are fine. I feel its normal, But i have always wanted to study why people are drwn to game and movie violence.
Sure, I don't like seeing blood and gore either. But my brother plays fighting games and I watch.
Of course you do,you like violence in videogames because it has no real consequences on your physical.That if you don't consider the neurological/Psychological ones physical.Which they are,particularly if you somatize a lot.

Sometimes I actually feel bad for the predators I slain while playing fallout 3 new vegas.Then I realize the way they die and get hurt isn't realistic,feel better then like slaying some more with my tesla-beaton prototype.
A movie is just a movie. It's fake like the video game even if it's not as obvious as one. You can watch behind the scenes extras to remind you everything is fake.
Except for the movie Poltergeist...

As long as you are not one of those people that are influenced by violent video games and go out and do the stuff that they did while playing one, then you are fine. Those type of people piss me off. They try to give all gamers a bad name.
