Is it normal if i can't grow up looking wise?

I'm gonna be 23 and it seems like I haven't changed in terms of my appearance. Apparently I still look 17-18 and it's pretty annoying. Plus my voice doesn't help. I remember though when I was 17, pple told me I looked 21 so now that I am around that age, I look the opposite? I don't get it! Anywho, I just find it annoying because people won't take me seriously since I look like a youngin to their eyes. I hang out with older people too like 25 and up so sometimes, they see me as a little kid and its annoying. Then people around my age like from HS, I see they've gone through puberty and look 23 when I still look like a munchkin, idk but its kind of embarrassing. Especially with girls, my gfs or acquaintances look very womanly and I'm the same teenager. Idk how or when the fuck I'm gonna start looking mature.

The positive is when I am older, I won't look that old. But I hope I still don't look like a kid! I believe in order to grow more mature looking, you have to go through experiences and I haven't gone through much experience. I'm not just talking about sex cause that yes I have but just more like spontaneous and struggle. I was on the way there when I went to college but I met my bf and that kind of settled me down and held me back from letting lose (kind of regret it). Idk if that has to do with looking older or anything but based on my gfs I know and who look mature, are more lose. To me, I don't look like a child. Sometimes, I feel like I do look young but not like HS young. But then pple kill it and ask if I'm 17 I'm like no! go away! I'm a brunette and tan skin and I don't want to like dye my hair drastically or anything in my looks in order to appear older, I think its fake.

I just wanna know why don't I look my age. I also don't dress like a little kid, I think I dress pretty classy and not too many colors. I usually wear black which is supposed to look elegant and sleek. My bf btw is 28 BUT luckily he looks like he's 23 but sometimes I feel like he looks at me like a child and doesn't take me seriously. I think tho the same thing will happen to me that has happened to him; once I'm 27 ish I'll finally look 23 and I'll prob be happy about it...or who knows.

Maybe your telomeres aren't getting shorter with each division, so then your DNA isn't degenerating and cells aren't dying off.

I went through the same thing. I probably didn't look my age until 30. You can help look more your age by having the hair and clothing style of people just older than your age. Don't sweat it, though. It's temporary and you could have worse challenges.
