Is it normal i wear a melon helmet
For short rides on my bike, I don't think I need the full protection of a carbon fibre helmet so I carve my own helmet from a melon that I often find in mysterious places, like my neighbour's fridge.
When I take my pets along with me on the cart I tow, I make a pineapple helmet for my dog (quite pertinent as she's an Afghan hound with a taste for pinecones, as my gardener knows only too well), and also a grape helmet for Kittus Pussywillow (my lizard).
I think we look quite super as we travel the streets but local children have begun to shout obscenities. Once they even called for my head. I knew it to be childish ribaldry but what if it isn't?
Surely it would be sillier to invest in helmets for a dog and a lizard?
