Is it normal i wanted to hear my parents having sex?

When I was younger (around 12) I always wanted to hear my parents having sex because then I'd know they still at least kind of loved each other. It didn't really bother me that they would eventually get divorced because it was for the best, but I wanted them to put aside their issues and at least be happy at night...

    I was ten years old and my little bro was about one, he woke up and I got him out of the crib and went to tell my parents that I had him. I just opened the door and there they were...mid coitus. My mom pulled the sheet up to cover herself so fast and my dad dove to the floor on the other side of the bed. I damn near dropped my brother and didn't speak to my mother for a week. I was scarred. Even all these years later that image is burned into my brain. It hurts. Oh, they put a lock on the door that same day

    When you grow up being taught that sex is what happens between two people who love each other deeply, of course you're going to listen out for it.

    I never 'wanted' to hear my parents when I was younger, but the few times I did (after being completely grossed out of course), I was comforted knowing they still loved each other and found the other remotely attractive.
