You don't know that. Yes every person in the Marines has to be a qualified rifelman, but there are tons of other positions that don't involve the infantry. Military Police for example, or base engineers. It all boils down to how well you do on the aptitude tests. What do the recruiters say?
Yea I think it's normal. Go for it, but if you want to. Your story doesn't really show any enthusiasm on the idea, but if you do want to enlist then I don't see how it wouldn't be normal.
Actually not a bad idea if you don't plan to attend college. There is a very slim possibility of being killed given the large number of marines and the relatively low death rate. You are clothed, housed, and fed by the government. It provides excellent future employment opportunities. You can retire young or do your 4 years and get out. If you decide to continue your education the U.S. Gov't will pay for it. Anyway, the military isn't for everybody, but can provide great opportunities for personal advancement as well as a sense of patriotism.
Right after high school? Such a bad idea. I wouldn't bother until you know for sure you need that kind of change in your life.
