Is it normal i want to do this to child killers and child molesters?

I want to put the scum of the Earth in a Long Walk challenge. And the only reward is surviving. I hate these people.

Torturing them makes us just as primal and underdeveloped as them. Unable to control our inapropriate urges.

Nobody in the world deserves to be tortured. No matter how evil the person is, chances are, they are very unhappy or unfortunate. Making them suffer would make the inflictor just as evil as them. Put them out of them misery mercifully.

The greatest gift child molesters can give us is the secrets of why they did it, and how we can prevent anyone else doing it. I'd take them off the streets but I'd study them, not torture them.

Why keep them rotting in a cell when they could be doing some good for society? Even if it stops just one child from being raped, it was a better use of their incarceration.

Because most of them won't. Most, it not all of them, are sick individuals who've ruined people's lives. They don't deserve second chances. I say let them rot.

I wasn't really thinking of a second chance. I don't think they should ever be free. But maybe they can repay their debt just a tiny fraction if study on them helps identify or prevent other people following the same path.

It's tempting to let them rot, but I'm more keen on stopping future generations suffering.

In my experience, there are almost always extreme psychological reasons for men and women who molest and kill children, it's not just because they choose to do it for fun... These people shouldn't be tortured or killed, but they should be removed from places where there are children at risk. Perhaps a leper colony type situation? I don't know. This is a tough one for me because of personal reasons. I believe in forgiveness. I've let go of my hate, and so should you. It does you no good, believe me, I know.

I think free will is largely an illusion. We need to understand people who are compelled to commit atrocious acts, and encourage them to confess, explain, so we might prevent tragedies. I don't believe self righteousness does any good, any time.

Cruel and unusual punishments should be used on them. Make them suffer just like how they made their victims suffer. Chemical castration, medieval torture (etc.) Anything goes with these pieces of inferior filth.

I don't see any benefit to making them suffer pointlessly. Some of these people are just really messed up in the head, and are not entirely responsible for their actions. Also, what if you were falsely accused of killing/raping a child, and were then dragged of to some torture chamber?

Perhaps life-long forced labour and low quality living conditions would be more appropriate. All the profit made from their work could be used to catch and neutralise any other people like them. That way they could pay off their debt to society, and any mistakenly accused people would have a chance of redemption should the true culprit be found.

I am assuming that you have never been sexually abused. If such punishments were implemented, it would be ideal if the law system knew 100% whether or not someone had been falsely accused. I wouldn't want another innocent to suffer. I think before they are to be sentenced/punished, that it should be mandatory for them to have psychiatric analysis. As dappled stated, it could be used to help prevent this kind of behavior from happening again. It might also give their victims the answer of WHY they did what they did.

Actually, dappled suggested studying them to try and learn more about them. Torturing them wouldn't really do anything good, and would be an excuse for police brutality to become normalized and accepted into society. The police already do enough harm without stuff like this being officially permitted.

Medieval torture wouldn't reveal anything more about the culprit than a good firm talk would. After all, the only thing we want out of them is an accurate picture of how they think. We already know 'why' they did it. They were sexually attracted to children, and were on the look out for an easy target to rape and possibly abduct.

How would torturing them benefit the victim? Do you really think she'd feel any better if two smiley policemen came round and said "Honey, it's all alright now, because the guy wot did it is lying covered in blood with his legs broken down at the prison."?

As a christian, I also believe that people who do this will recieve fair judgement from God in due time, and that it isn't our place to inflict suffering as punishement. The only thing we can do now is lock them up and find a way to use their captivity in a positive manner.

Science wise, has done brain examinations on Serial Killers. Have they ever done them on child molesters? There must been something in their brain that differs from the average person. If they could find out what it is exactly, that might be able to help scientists find a cure for paedophilia (I think I might have spelled this wrong.)

I think the satisfaction/relief would come from the fact that the victim's suffering was avenged. I would love nothing more then to know that my abuser was not only punished by law but suffering further I am that that day will come very soon as she is still a risk towards children and their safety. I hear that many inmates are parent's and that they don't usually take kindly towards child molesters. Of course, I can't speak for all people who have been abused. Many people have different mindsets on what their abuser did and how they feel towards them.

Talking doesn't rule out lying. If the culprit doesn't want to further get themselves into trouble they'll more than likely lie to prevent that from happening. The threat of torture, especially one of the often gristly methods of medieval torture, might scare them enough that they will be willing, more compliant, to do anything that will negate such a fate.

I don't agree with your particular solution. Dangerous people need to be put out of our misery, but I think it should be done swiftly and humanely. Torturing them is pointless, stupid and gives us all a really nasty attitude towards life and death.

In the case of rapists, it might be worthwhile to consider castration in lieu of, or addition to, a jail sentence. After all, the point is to prevent a recurrence of the crime. For someone who hasn't done quite enough to die for, you should take away the tools he did it with...
