Is it normal i want to be a "crazy bacteria lady"

I am sure most of us have heard of the term "crazy old cat lady". You know, old ladies who have a lot of cats to keep them company.

Well I kind of want to be a "crazy" bacteria lady when I am an old woman. I would find it enjoyable to have an incubator where I grew (harmless) bacteria in petri dishes to make little bacterial colonies and watch them grow up into bigger colonies...I also think it would be fun to take swabs of random places in my house/outside/public places to see what types of bacteria grow there.

Does anyone out there find this as appealing as I do? Or am I just freaking weird.

    Sure, it would be awesome. I can just imagine you sitting in your porch with a petri dish of e-coli in your lap and a petri dish of hepatitis B perched on your shoulder.

    This is the reason I majored in microbiology..can't find a job but hey! I would love a colony of the wolf pack bacteria (myxococcus xanthus)

        I have one..but not one using my degree...I just don't live in a big city. If I were a military spouse I'd be doing bio weapon research or if I'd have majored in medical technology but that wasn't offered at my university blah. Back to school for me!
