Is it normal i want a mohawk this much?

Ever since i was little i allways wanted a mohawk... Back then mommy said "Nono.. That is very ugly". I'm 18 now.

Watched Taxidriver (Awesome movie) 4 - 5 months ago and i was amazed by the mohawk Travis rocked in some of the crazy scenes.. But i didn't think about it that much for long..

Until now, now i want one so bad... It's like i must get it done, i have to. I feel that it it's the perfect way for me to express myself.... Heck i'm not super out-going... Just watching myself in the mirror with it is gonna turn me on so much.

I love punk rock too... But that's not really why i want it... Perhaps i deeply hope that some people will look at me and think "What a fucking rebel"...

IIN?... Oh and,, i just love the way Mohawks they look, but i think gel & glue ruins the crap out of them.

    Get one now while you can. You won't be able to pull it off in 20 years when you have a job at an office.

        I got alot... ALOT of hair.. Thick & black hair on me' head... Don't think i will ever start balding.

        Balding freaking sucks, i feel sorry for people who experience it... But as i've told myself many times.. if i start losing hair, just go bald instantly.. Shave it all off.. Kick back & enjoy the bonehead!

          thick and black hair makes for great looking mohawks. now rather than later is good advice. the cut won't make people think you are a rebel though and it shouldn't be for other people to think anything, it's supposed to make you feel like you are making a statement of some sort - however wrong and stupid it may seem in 20 years.

          it's no big deal, just do it. the worst that can happen is you shaving it all off the same day

    I've wanted one for the past 25 years but, like shuggy pointed out, it's an image/statement and some people will make judgements about you based on your hairdo. As long as your appearance will not negatively impact your education/career/personal-life, I'd say: go for it.

    People won't think you're a rebel because mohawks are soo played out now even little kids have them. When I was into punk I remember people making fun or giving my friends looks who had em but they also dyed their hair and their attire was odd too I suppose.

      Some people are offended by "mohawks".. And there could be atleast 1 or 2 that steps out and thinks "That kid is a rebel".. BUT.. I just hope that people or atleast some people just get the fact that i'm into punk rock..

      Adolescents, GG allin, Fang, Bad brains, the meatmen etc..

      I like alot of music, but for me a Mohawk is just gonna blend in with my overall "Style"... Fully black converse, Jeans, tees & strange long tees also.

      I think the "Gel" thing ruins most Mohawks i've seen, it starts to look like a symbol of fashion which i dislike... Liberty spikes looks cool enough, just can't understand why some people want to get them.. As it looks pretty hard to make them stand up.

        You had me at adolescents but a lot of shit I was/am into is the uk82 like gbh, varukers and a lot of others. Gel sucks, used egg whites or knox if you want to grow a long hawk. You're 18 so just do it.. Fuck it.

          Haircut DONE... Was very pleased with the results, the hairdresser (A She) was very nice and also cuts my brothers hair...

          It is a Mohawk and i also did show her the picture of Travis unhealthy mental state hair (In taxidriver) and she insisted that would be abit too much... Glad i didn't took it that far honestly.

          Finally got it done!.. So happy!

          I'll use this (Bad boy-ish) looking humble hairdo to Rebel against the system!.. Lol jk, but for the love of PUNK :P

    Just be careful about if ur employer'ss feeling on it. My dad lost 1of his part time job when he was in hhis 20's cause he got one

      That's what my father was so deeply serious about... Luckily i got my summer holidays early..

      What bothers me the most is i know for sure that some people will be offended by it.. Believe it not, fucked up society.

        I cut my long hair short for my current job, cause even thou it was only 5 inches at it longest ( I had just cut off a ton of hair for locks of love) it was suggusted it was a bit long. Now I keep it at the around the length I had it between the cuts, but just be careful on ur image sending preconceptions of who u are

    Logan Carter in the Game "Dead Island" has an awesome mohawk, too. i honestly thought about getting one after playing this game.
