Im 28 and I've been with my guy for 11 years and we haven't got married. He gave me an engagement ring 8 years ago but didn't even get down on his knee or anything like that. Oh and we don't have any kids.
Do you live in the same place? Do you two share a room?
Are you emotionally attached to each other? well then what are you complaining about?
Oh, sure, special marriage certificate priviliges...
and I thought we were finally going to get rid of this whole age old religious madness.
I was with mine for eight years. I broke up with him because we didn't want the same things. You have to talk to your man and see does he want to get married. If he is does he want to marry you. Be ready to tell him what you want and be ready to leave if you don't like the answer.

My friend was with her bf for 13 years. She started to get a lift to work with a guy who really got on her nerves. By the end of that year she had dumped her bf and was engaged to marry the new guy the following year. They are still married and very happy.
Guess the long term one just wasn't meant to be... maybe subconsciously the two of them were keeping their options open in case someone better came along.
I'm 27 and I just got married in November. It was on our 10 year anniversary. We were engaged for 8 years too. Lol so ya I think it's normal. Planning a wedding is balls that's why I put it off for so long. We also don't have kids, but he did propose on his knee.
