Is it normal i've became big fan of opera

I've been becoming a big fan of opera for couple of days. However, I have never listened opera before, actually always hated it. Whenever i saw it on tv i zapped the channel, and never let anyone to listen it around me!

I know it's so boring type of music and it's related with boring classical music. Anyways I can't stop myself to listen Pavarotti or Dmitri Hvorostovsky. Especially Dmitri's Aria Ancient is my favorite.

Do you think I am still normal although I listen that freak music, or is there any chance to save my soul?

I enjoy certain operatic songs once in a while. A lot of them are pretty...but I don't know about listening to an entire two-hour opera with the costumes and dialogue.
Do you just like random songs or have you become an opera buff and are going to actual operas?

Check out this YouTube clip of Juan Diego Florez singing an aria called "Ah! Mes Ami" from The Daughter of the Regiment: www.youtube.com/watch?=gR4kzKPUTvw

It is OK. You should try to listen to opera metal bands, they actually have a lot of fans so you won't be alone
