Is it normal i try very hard to seem american?

I moved from Russia to USA with my brother and I don't think anyone likes me here. I am 6'5 23 year old male and have very heavy accent. I like USA very much and citizens are very kind to each other but neighbors call police on me every week say I look suspicious or they think I rob them and bosses don't like my tattoos. I was taught to not smile or give greet to people but Americans like to do that very much so I try to be nice too. I met very nice American boy who teaches me to speak clearer if I buy him dinner. He is very loud and protests very much but is kind to me so I like him.

I don't talk to people because I hate my accent and sometimes ignore people so to not show accent. I wrap my arms and put makeup on my cheek to cover tattoos. I work out a lot and dress in Hollister and Under Armour. My brother does not bother to learn English and he fights police when they come. I very want Americans to like me but am not making friends from insecurities. So very sorry for grammar I start English 11 months ago.

Do an internet search for "accent reduction classes.". There are classes you can attend in person, DVD's you can watch, and even some YouTube videos you can watch for free. Good luck to you!
