There's a term that I really dislike and believe is completely moronic. That term is Genwunner, a common thing that people call those who only like the 1st Gen of Pokemon. Why name-call people just because they have a perference? That's lame. I mean, you don't see these so called "Gen-Wunners" going around calling those who like Generations after Gen 1 "Gen Twoers" or so on. Let people like what they like. Stop making asses out of yourselves just because someone may only like the 1st Gen and believe there to be only 151 Pokemon. To them in their beliefs/views, that's accurate and should not be insulted, flamed, or rediculed just because they believe differently than those who like the gens that came after Gen 1. Don't get me wrong. Gen 1 Fans shouldn't be mean to those who like the newer stuff either. Live and let live. Personally, I only like Pokemon up to the 3rd Gen Games. Just because a person doesn't like all Gens or only likes 1 Generation does not mean that they're "Not a True Pokemon Fan". You don't HAVE to like every single Gen or every single Pokemon (There's 721 now). A fan is open to critizing and disliking anything he/she doesn't agree with (Like Icecream, Gear, or Garbage Pokemon). As long as you keep playing Pokemon games (Doesn't matter what Gen they are), you'll always be a pokemon fan.

    It's not a matter to be devastatingly hyped about. You could just ignore the remarks of the elitists fans and move on.

    I used to be a die-hard metalhead. Lots of elitists that you can find. Still a metalhead, but not as active as before.

    Ignore, the best option.

    I wasn't aware that this term even existed, but then again, I make it a point to avoid the fanbases of series I enjoy for this very reason (reason being, fans will find any number of ways to cause drama amongst each other).

    I would imagine, like me, 95% of the human beings on this planet have no idea what the fuck Pokemon is or are interested enough to even google it.
    Seems a pretty silly thing to get so upset over, to me.

    The reason why people get called Genwunners is that those people hate on the other generations. I personally have not seen anyone called a Genwunner just for liking Gen 1. They only get called that if they get a superiority complex over it.

    Simply believing something is true does not make it fact. The fact is that there is more Pokemon than those seen in gen one. However its not abnormal to only like gen one. Since Pokemon has some horrible writers. Which is very clear to see from the many loop holes in the story-line. Which they would not have if they knew anything about story structure.

    The story set up should have went like so.

    Gen:establish story/characters

    Gen two:establish story/characters, character development

    Gen three:Develop character background and development

    Gen four:Develop story background(Setting)

    Gen five:Start getting creative

    Which they do not do in Pokemon. During gen one and gen two they were not going to complain about the many loop holes. Since they still had time to fill in the pieces. However they are going to need to start developing something after gen 3 and they did not do this.
