Is it normal i think that my emotional pain is physically visible?

When my heart is breaking, the pain is so pervasive that I worry that others might see it or even feel it radiating from me. It feels like searing coals in my chest and palms of my hands.

I feel ashamed that I cannot control my misery.

Your problem really shouldn't be whether people know you're miserable or not, it should be feeling miserable in the first place.

You shouldn't feel ashamed for having feelings. And if you want people to believe that you're not miserable, then getting rid of your misery is way more effective than repression or hiding how you feel. I hope you get better, but you seriously need to focus on how you feel and think rather than how others do.

I used to wonder if teachers could see the sadness in my eyes. I think they did because they asked my dad if i was depressed at parent-teacher night... Anyways, I am not sure if it a radiation of sadness that others feel, but that they can look at you and sense it.

Sometimes it is visible, but those most likely to see it, feel it, and will empathize with you. Get it out, holding in that kind of pain will manifest in physical ailments. Scream if you must.

    Let me help, AAAAHHHHH!!!

    Come on, scream with me.

    Wow some good comments here.

Being broken hearted is possibly one of the worst pains. But the pain does not last forever for anyone.
We all learn to accept and move on. Try focusing on the good memories and hopefully that may bring a smile to your face, just for a moment.

Things will get easier and easier every day. Try to speak to others more and get out a bit with any friends or make new ones. Generally this is when people and friends will help you the most.

I have found that the first couple of weeks are extremely difficult, but as the months roll by eventually only the good memories will remain. Focus on that and start being happy and social again.

As an uncanny spinoff, you may be more attracted to women right now as they see that you require some caring and love attention.

Energy is always radiating from people, so if you feel very sad, then yeah others can pick up on it. Hope you get better, good luck!

Yes your depression may become physically visible in other symptoms but I think you shouldn't have to worry so much over heartbreak, is there really nothing that can replace your sadness? Sorry...
