Is it normal i think love is overrated?

We live in a world that seems to revolve around people wanting to be "in love" and seeking romance. I do not understand why. All the media with love topics and all the people who say they want to love makes me wonder why humans are not beyond that yet. It is illogical and I wish I lived in a society that wasn't obsessed with unnecessary and intangible useless needs.

    Society is also obsessed with things like death and fear and hate and all sorts of negative stuff. Love is one of the better themes society is obsessed with :P

    Taking 'love' as romantic, not platonic.

    Perhaps that's how you feel, and perhaps you will always feel that way, but I'd say the majority don't.

    I've felt jaded many times, but ultimately, when/if you are in love, it's...there are no words.

    Okay, but what would yo do instead? Get up, go to work, go back to sleep, repeat? We are trying to fill an emptiness in our lives, true. But resigning yourself to living an empty life is just as bad.

      I don't feel empty at all. I like what I'm doing with my life and my life is full of adventure.

          There is plenty life has to offer. You just have to look for it. Life has nothing to offer if you don't leave your house.

    I love the feeling of love. Love is such a lovely feeling. I just want to lovingly wrap my arms around love's lovely, slender neck and lovingly squeeze the life out of his lovely body. I would love the feeling of lovingly destroying love. Love Love Love Love LOVE!

    Its okay to find it overrated. There ARE lots of people who just want a relationship just to want one. I don't think its illogical to want to be loved though, everyone might not want that but its a respectable and common desire I'd say. Plus, whenever I liked someone, it just happened and I didn't ask for it all and despite the fact that none of them lasted (like most perhaps), they were great experiences.
