Is it normal i think i'm the smartest person in the world?

First of, I'm not a narcissist, I think I'm ugly, I know I suck at sports and video games, and I generally don't get along with people. I do however think I’m the smartest person on earth; I'm 18 and have stumped every person (including Ph.Ds) with a theory that contradicts a theory on thermodynamics. Is it strange to think I'm the smartest person on earth?

tbh there is a great difference between intelligence and being knowledgeable. I am not very knowledgeable in terms of grammar and certain subjects...but that means nothing..you study for that. True intelligence is measured by your ability in being able to understand and analyze things. I'm sick of all these university graduates claiming they're brilliant cuz they've studied for years at school....lmfao...so dense. true intelligence is something you're born with and is exactly what i stated above. I'm often misinterpreted as being dumb cuz i'm a chill guy who never tried in school...but once ppl get to know me they realize I'm the smartest guy they've ever known. So I hope you fuckers realize that being intelligent and knowledgeable is a whole different thing. And to answer your question no, you're far off from being the most intelligent person in the world...from my experience..being smart only makes life harder...you always analyze every situation and think of every outcome...then tend to dwell on the worst one possible because of the emotional reaction...So being a simple minded individual is much easier. later!

Thank you so much for saying this. It's as if you and I share a life and mind. I have tried to explain this to people for years about myself and others who are intellegent, and they just see me as narcissistic. You have given the correct wording and I can't thank you enough.

No, it's not normal because you HAVE NOT stumped EVERYONE with a PHD.

well that's great that you're smart and have confidence in your intelligence, but there are more important things in the world. like modesty....

Your intelligence I will not call into question, as you apparently know how to use English correctly, which is better than I can say for most people.

The poster even landed the semi colon. I never see a semi colon used correctly anymore.

Remember kids, capitalization and punctuation is the difference between "i helped my uncle jack off his horse" and "I helped my uncle, Jack, off his horse."

It is normal to be confidant in your intelligence. But it is not to be so narcissistic about it.

When string thoery was disproved, Hawking worked with the man who shot his theory to pieces to find the real truth. That is how the scientific methood works.

You must have the humility to listen and work with someone you might normaly not have because everyone has a different mind and neurons that fire differently. The Human experience is unique to each of us. You know things I don't, as I know things you don't.

The Tao says that a wise man knows that he knows NOTHING at all.

  • I don't know if I should click "yes" or "no" >.> Because, yes, it is normal to think you're the smartest person in the world. Personally I don't, but I know some people who does think they're smarter than anybody else.

The problem is, you ask: "Is it strange to think I'm the smartest person on earth?"
Whereby the answer would be no.

But usually you should answer if you think it is normal.
Whereby the answer would be yes.

    This is a tricky one...

Instead of a contradicting theory, I bet it was just a question the theory doesn't explain.

Nope, the real explination behind it is you are young, immature, and haven't grown up yet. That is not an adult's mind set at all

I feel you are another lonely person feeling as if you need dominance. Well I know I am not the smartest person to ever live, but I started studying Quantum Physics/Mechanics in the 7th grade, but finally, after a lot of studying, I learned Schrodingers equation in the 8th grade. And I feel that is impressive. But I am man enough to admit the truth instead of wanting dominance on the internet.

I cannot say unless I hear your theory and convince myself that your theory is something that I cannot prove or disprove, that is connect with atleast your basic thought framework and flow.So I wish you would try stumping me,by the way I am a mechanical engineer by qualification,so I do know something about the laws of thermodynamics,I got questions too about their validity

I don't have a PhD, could you stump me? A very subjective and natural question from a smart 18 year old. I suggest doing things you clearly are not the best at and re-think your question. Is thermodynamics 'more' than say an athletes ability to intelligently learn how to push themselves to new heights?

You are probably 40 and have failed at getting your BSFA . You are not wise or smart and will go nowhere with that attitude . It's probable that you don't understand thermodynamics and thAts why you feel you have negated it . You have stumped all PhDs with your stupidity . Now be smart and get over yourself.

    i am ignorant,

although i would love to hear your theory, sometimes some humans can just see things.

i have a strong interest in your fore-mentioned topic.

i also would like to say to the IIN username editors chris berg II please i need to be taught a lesson on humility i will put my theories out there.

I pity all of you who have commented telling him he is not the smartest person in the world. You have not met him, you cannot say. If Einstein posted this comment would you say the same thing. The fools here are the ones that stereotype this thought process with your own interactions and bases in life. Jumping to such emotion just shows a feeling of self worth fabricated by a need to gain importance to oneself, and is nothing more than immature. To those that spoke with logic, I laugh with you as well.

You can never say anything is true you can only negate it

This kid clearly is not the smartest ( negation)
He is the smartest ( definite - not possible to prove )

One big point that everyone completely fails to consider, is that this person actually could be the smartest person in the world. And whoever is the smartest person, would have to be a person who ponders everything and asks a LOT of questions. The most interesting part of this thread is observing how fast people jump to a conclusion without any details what-so-ever. All answers are based on a "belief" system that each person has, that makes all "big" things unachievable in their worlds. If i say that I believe i am going to change the world and go down in history, then each of your immediate responses will be a confident, "no you will not," without knowing anything about me.

The smartest people are those who do not brag.

The smartest people will use their knowledge to help people, not to make them feel bad.

The smartest people are those who may not be intelligent but empathic. (meaning you can place yourself in the situation of another human etc)

The smartest people know how to comfort other people.

And above all, the smartest people accept everyone like they are. Handicaps, races, religions. Frankly, most humans lack that.

I think that it is normal for a person to at some point in their life consider the possibility of them being the smartest person in the world. To begin, you would likely consider the concept of a smartest person and then start to attribute some propeties to this hypothetical person. If it seems that you fit your own description of the smartest person in the world, then it seems reasonable to consider the possibility. But, every person will have a different idea of what this hypothetical person would be like. Generally, one who has the title of being the smartest person in the world is recognized for some sort of significant achievement by a large portion of society and then the society decides that this person sall be given the title of being the smartest person in the world. There really isn't a concrete definition of the smartest person in the world that is universal to everyone. If you are asking me if by some measure of intellegence that I decide on, if I would give you a large score, then I would say you are probably a very intellegent person who has a lot of potential to do great things. To another point, I personally would not measure one's inteligence by one's ability to stump other people or show a flaw in a theory. Rather, I think that your passion for thinking, learning, and act of coming up with creative ideas helps lead to a larger number on my scale. As an another note, the most successful bright people are the ones who are very persistent in using their gifts.

Never quite heard it expressed as a theory "on thermodynamics". Coming up with a contradictory theory for one that hasn't been proven isn't a huge deal. Producing a counter-example to a proven theory is. Thermo's all math-driven anyway so write it up and submit it to a journal or a conference and put your money where your mouth is!

Being highly intelligent at one thing doesn't make you the smartest person in the world. The smartest person in the world wouldn't post something like this.

And by the way, I you were the smartest person to have ever lived, why would you need to ask others if you're normal?

And what's the great theory you came up with? And were these phds actually intelligent. Oh, wait- I know what you're going to say. Of course they're smart, or that would defeat the point of you bragging!

What is wrong with people these days... I doubt if you weren't even valedictorian that you're the smartest person in the world. I don't try and I'm number two in a competitive class... No excuse for not being number one, honey, if you're so smart.........
