Is it normal i smoke weed everyday?

Yep like the title says, I smoke pot everyday. And I have for 11 years now. I function just fine while high, in fact, I function better when high. When I am sober I am very scatter-brained and irritable. I know that there are no addicting chemicals in pot, but I can't go a single day without it.

I think when you are high you only think that you can function better.

    • I smoke alot and I can tell you for a fact that you are correct. I smoke yes, but medical science doesn't become invalid just because you're high.

You've got dumb smokers who think the high their feeling = functioning.

Then you've got the smart ones who realise the high = chems fucking with your brain.

It's called "dope" for a reason lol.

The funniest thing is when the dumb ones go "everyone is effected in different ways, it doesn't do anything to me" This is false, the types of damage pot does to the body is the same for all people, as we all have the same bady parts.

But man do I love weed!!!!

I figured it was called dope since it effects the dopamine receptors.

I dunno, getting stoned doesn't generally make me stupid, maybe I just don't smoke enough for that. :p

        • Well yes, but it actually effects every part of the nervous system. People who smoke it alot sometimes "twitch" due to this, almost like they have very mild tourettes.

It's kind of a pun. It doesn't make you stupid, it just slows everything down causing mental confusion, poor reflexes, loss of short term memory, lowered immune system, damaged nerves, and most of all the "magical thinking" that leads the less "aware" pot heads to think that they aren't negatively effected by it in the first place.

Your intelligence level is a born trait so that remains (IQ's cannot really be altered or improved by more than a couple of points), however, the ability to use it becomes lessened by the other effects "getting in the way" so to speak.

Not @ anyone in particular: He quite plainly states that he functions fine while high, not that it has no effect on him. This could mean a wide variety of things, such as he doesn't lose attention span or short term memory. This is most likely due to a preexisting mental issue, such as ADHD, that he is unknowingly medicating. As far as the symptoms from when he is not under the influence, these are withdrawal symptoms produced by the body when it is out of it's now "natural" state. If you were to quit smoking for 1-6 months and start again lightly a few times a week or every other week those would go away.

As for is it normal, yes. I smoke nearly every day myself, the exception being when I am dry. That is not to say that I am stoned all day, every day. That is a likely cause of side effects, give your brain some down time if this is what you're doing.

I would say it's normal because I smoke almost every day, but if you literally can't go a day without it, that's psychological addiction. I can and have gone days without it before, it is kind of irritating because I have stomach problems and eating will be really uncomfortable for a day or two, but it's certainly not unbearable.

    Short answer: yes.

I would also like to go on a rant and just say that you're psychologically addicted to marijuana. Although this basically doesn't mean shit, it does mean that you now see being high as the ultimate state of being and how you should be. When you aren't high, your understanding of the fact that you aren't high will make you feel differently and most likely make you feel sad about it. Smoking will then make you feel so much better due to the fact that you acknowledged that you just smoked. Your highs will feel great and make you feel good even with a very high tolerance. Along with that your lows will hit you harder as well. Sobering up will most likely be more depressing as becoming aware of the fact that you have sobered up means you are aware you are no longer under the effects of marijuana and then you will perceive yourself to be in a much lower state of functionality than you truly are. This basically means being sober "placebos" you into a greater state of depression or sadness or whatever you feel when you come down from a high.

Only 30% of adults have ever tried marijuana. Approximately 5% of people (1/6 of the 30%) smoke marijuana every day (real stats from the Australian Drug and Alcohol Authority). "Normal" is a statistical thing (which is why we vote on IIN.com). So it's not normal, obviously. However, if you use a vapouriser, at least you won't get lung cancer. If you enjoy it, why the hell shouldn't you smoke pot every day? That said, you can "learn" to enjoy other things that aren't so expensive, just as enjoyable and healthier, like yoga. Remember, marijuana will destroy your memory (a medically proven fact) so if your job relies on a great memory, it probably isn't a good idea. Also, a potential girlfriend might not put up with it. You are really limiting your social sphere with this daily practice. Consider bringing it down to once a week.

Marijuana does not cause lung cancer alone, it must be coupled with another item that is smoked. This is because it coats your air-sacs (forgive my ignorance as the technical term escapes me and dictionary.com is just too much wasted effort on something so trivial) and so, whatever is already on them is trapped and anything incoming simply is expelled by the body. This is possibly a contributing factor to the sinus problems associated with Cannabis use, I shall have to experiment :D
