Is it normal i seemingly can't get diabetes?

Bluntly put, no one in my entire family has ever, ever had T1 or T2 diabetes this has been ongoing for generations. I bought this up because at work, quite a few people have and or worry about it.

I eat tons of crap (I do eat healthy too) I am by no means overweight, in fact i am underweight and I'm just wondering if its normal that I seemingly cannot get it, everyone else worries about it.

  • As long as you keep up a healthy lifestyle you probably won't have to worry about it. But just because you do not have a family history of diabetes does not mean you cannot develop it if you decide to go completely overboard with the food you eat.

My family is just the same, & I`m grateful that at least our genes aren`t all bad!

Why are you complaining about not getting diabetes and why is everyone worried? It doesn't make sense.

Everyone at work "worry" because they have a history of it, and can seemingly get it easily based on what they have seen with their brothers and sisters, they watch what they eat much more carefully.
