Is it normal i remember stuff that never happened

Ok , so i remember a lot of stuff that never happened, i know they happened and their so vivid in my mind and just.. so true. so, many years later i was sitting with my sisters and they were talking about old memories together. then i told them , remember that one time when lizzy(my biggest sis)(she was 10 when this thing happened in my memory) was driving my grandpa's car (which is impossible) then we were going through a road full of trees and stuff and it was narrow, then we bumped into a electricity store and we got electrified a bit and we crashed. i remember everything before this (i wont mention it was very long) and also what happened after. and it was just like any other normal day , and i remeber after this thing happened i went out with my parents and then we went by the electricity store and i told them be careful here we don't want to get hurt, and they were like yah we shouldnt AND ITS JUST SO REAL . my sisters laughed at me and told me to stop lying but i really know they were real. i have also maybe 4 or 5 other things that happened but i stopped getting them now they were only when i was young (but i still remember them more than what i remember in real life) and my four memories were either a fantasy or impossible

please if you want to leave hate comments you can leave, i really need help

When we remember something we're not remembering the event but rather how we last remembered it. So over time a memory becomes distorted with incorrect information leading to false memories.

Onetime while I was at Disney world, I threw up at a restaurant; or so I thought. Never happened. I remember being there while I was 3, but my grandma reminded me I was at Disney world when I was 2, 5, and 7. It turned out I didn't know this was a dream, and my brain was tricking me into thinking it was real life.

I thought of that too, but going through my odd memories.. they're not similar like they arent small details that change, its the whole thing.

I understand you! I have that and it freaks me out too! Makes me feel like I'm going insane and question about all my other memories... It's weird... We're all just a bunch of memories... Some of them didn't actually happened and yet they're in our minds just like the other memories. What is real after all?

    • It happens to me too, sometimes, our brains edit our actual memories for a story.
