Is it normal i refuse to buy underaged teens booze/smokes

Is it normal I refuse to buy underaged teens booze/smokes even though I drank and smoked since I was 15 years old? It seems hypocritical but at the same time I feel like it is morally wrong. (AND ILLEGAL)

Totally. Why would you expose yourself to getting in trouble by the law? No sense in that, especially since the penalties are pretty stiff on that stuff.

    It is hypocritical.
    And I've also smoked(pot)/drank since I was 15.

However, I would do the same thing.

mabe deep down in your mind it's telling you that if they want to smoke/drink underage your not going to be the one taking the blame. i was smoking at 9 and started drinking at 12ish but still got others to go in the shop for me. i regret it but that was because i was a stupid child who thought it was cool. i refuse to by underage kids drinks/smokes as well it's really quite normal. i think it's just the way life is.

alcohol damages brain function at any age you idiot. your brain doesn't magically become damage proof from alcohol when you turn 17.

What you're doing is a good thing, even if it could be viewed as hypocritical. They'll likely get it somewhere else anyway, but you can at least rest easy knowing that you're not the reason some drunk high school kids ended up doing something totally retarded.

Normal. I was smoking and drinking since 15 as well and I refuse to support a habit that took me so long to quit.

My 15 year old sister asked me to buy her that and I told her no way in hell. If they went over board on the drinking, I'd be screwed.

It's OK to tell them "no".

They have no right to demand that you risk going to jail just to satisfy their own selfish desires.

It isn't hypocritical, it's called maturity. Luckily you have some, and even better you use it!

Also, interested to know how you worked out my real name was Meg... have you been stalking me when I've been cross-dressing?

        • I don't know if it's sarcasm from you, but what "GAYANALRAPIST" said was a line from the animated comedy show "Family Guy".

...I'm just now noticing the person that replied to you's username...

Yeah it is normal to have reservations about committing a crime so teenagers can get fucked up. Unless they are willing to grossly overpay for the drugs/alcohol, then it is ok. Also, when I was 15 we thought the guy that bought us beer was awesome and he had the coolest Trans Am.

You're just being smart. Back then we didn't realize the type of trouble people could get into for buying us alcohol but now we realize it

It's normal, and I don't think it's hypocritical. When people bought for you, you weren't thinking the same way you think now that you're older.

It's good you don't not just because it's illegal, but for the sake of the kid and their parents. Imagine how pissed your parents would've been at an adult who provided you with booze! Or how pissed you'd be of someone bought for your own kids. You don't want to be 'that guy'!!
