Is it normal i really like a racist song?

There's this very old folk song from the early 20th century called "All Coons Look Alike To Me."
I think it's technically not racist because it was written by a black man, who apparently had a good sense of humor towards the discrimination at the time. But most other people would say it's racist. I think the song is really catchy and funny. I play banjo, and I picked up the tune, and can pretty much play the whole song now. Am I racist or crazy for liking this song or not?

    I like whistling a tune called Preußens Gloria - the song has NO relationship to racism but people assume it is a Nazi song. I'm often making myself explain to people that this song was composed before the existence of the Nazis and even Germany itself.

    Liking a song about racist ways of being written by a person who is experiencing said racism, as a sarcastic comment towards racism itself, is not racist.

    I realise it can be confusing, but you are a good person for questioning yourself and worrying about it. :)

    ... Liking racist jokes (i.e. white people telling racist black jokes) is kind of... modern/aversive racism. (Terms describing the way racism manifests in a society where the norm is anti-racism, such as the US where most of the studies on this has been done.)

    One of my favourite songs is 'never met a nice south african' by Spitting Image. Racism can be hilarious so long as it's not harming or offending anyone.

      I listened to a bit of it and... um, its not very catchy. The singer sounds like he's severely constipated, the quality is bad, and they can barely play. They suck.

      I don't agree with it, but I don't think its fucked up that you like the song. Heck, some people could say its fucked up for me to have a fascination with WW2 Nazis, but I can't help the fact that it interests me.

        Will you be my new best friend? I LOVE WWII NAZIS. Then again, I'm called a Nazi, so it makes a bit more rational I guess. I like the warfare too.
