How does it take away from hardworking families? I'm genuinely curious on your logic...if there is any.
you're judgmental & just need to worry about you & you're own life/ family. because whether you agree & accept gay marriage or not; there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it. because regardless, it's gonna happen anyway. all you're doing is wasting your time when you could be doing something much more useful witness your life.
Well, *clears throat*, everyone has their on opinion about gay marriage, gays adopting children bla bla bla.
I think that you are right, marriage done by christianism is supposed to be for a man and a woman.
Now marriage in general, is ment for people that love eachother, both the heterosexual and gay community.
Christianism did not invent marriage, christianism does not make the rules.
Why don't you protest divorce? It's one of the most hypocritical part of christian marriage.
And what are you talking about gay marriage taking freedom and rights. That's nonsense! If I marry a man tomorrow, how would that affect you?
Gay marriage should be legalized in every state, also in every country.
It's our right, it's our freedom to choose who we are planning to stay with for the rest of our lives. We need happiness, we need love. We need less bitterness in this world.
I respect your opinion. Hope you can respect mine.
If you're against gay marriage, then simply don't marry somebody of the same sex. Easy enough.
If marriage is a religious institution then it should follow that religions "rules" which are man and woman.
HOWEVER, gays should be allowed to have civil unions which carry the same rights as any institutionalized marriage.
Religious nuts get to keep their petty old traditions and gays get their petty statement to the world.
Who are you to judge? Does it affect you in any way? If two people love each other immensely then they have a right to be together. Please consider this.
don't you want other people to be happy too? i think protesting against same sex marriage is selfish. U meanie :c
Gay marriage I do not agree on, but they can do whatever they like.I dont lose any sleep over gay people. Now if your gay and people are just "born that way" then why is it that a man and a man cant have children? or a women and a women? because it is not in their nature to.Marriage is to form a family a union , you agree to gay marriage now their adopting children and it kills me when these gay people involve the innocent children. Like hypocrites you cant have kids its not in your nature to, but you want them , shouldnt it be automatially insert somewhere in your brain that you cant have any because your gay so you wont desire any children but they do they want to live like straight people gay people contradict themselves in everyway. You dont have to be a christian to think being gay isn what was intended for humanity its common sense.
The reason a man and a man can't have children is that that isn't the way sexual reproduction works. The very reason sexual reproduction evolved was to increase genetic variation, and the development of distinct sexes furthered this goal.
But that doesn't mean it's wrong. Clothes didn't evolve, nor did cars, skyscrapers, the internet of www.isitnormal.com. The fact that something did not occur in nature (A dubious fact, considering in many species being gay or bi is common) is not grounds for deeming it immoral.
As for adopting children, how is it hypocritical? The idea that they're involving children is laughable, studies do not support gay parents increasing the likelyhood of being gay in any way. Wanting something which biology does not allow for is not hypocritical. It's what allowed the human race to achieve what it has compared to other species.
I AGREE WITH YOU!!! God created marriage to be between a man and woman. God made Adam and Eve NOT Adam and Steve!
To protest anything people do in the peaceful, loving pursuit of happiness is contrary to the rights and freedoms we're supposed to be supporting as people. Not letting people legally bond with any willing, adult partner of choice is what's taking away their rights with respect to marriage.
This is probably the most ignorant story on here that I've read so far. for one thing, marriage signifies love, it shouldn't matter what two people it is between. and do you know that 2/3 of the male population are SECRETLY bicurious? I'm male, but I am not even remotely interested in men. when it comes to situations like yours, you should learn to be more open minded and want happiness for the around you....don't oppose it just because you are unhappy. stop worshiping your invisible god brought on by ideas of the sun, and get with reality. go educate yourself and watch ZEITGEIST.
I have to say I disagree. It may go against nature, but no one can control who they love, and God forgives and loves everybody.
I'm really sorry that this idea is stuck in your head for some reason. Perhaps it was the way you were raised, perhaps it is the norm in your community.
Unfortunately your logic is a bit flawed in my opinion, if in fact gay marriage is deemed legal, this will only increase human rights in general - open a doorway for increased rights and freedoms.
This makes me belive that you dont think its fair that they recieve the same benefits as hedero marriages. What benefits are you afraid to loose exactly? I would really love to know.
Hardworking, you should be careful because some people may think that you are implying that gays are not hardworking; and I wont believe that you meant to imply that.
If 2 people want to get married who are you to question that decision. Call yourself a christian? Wheres the love because all it sounds like to me is your trying to spread hate.
Two people getting married doesn't take away anyone else's rights in any way at all. If you don't want people to have equal rights then just say it, don't make up bullshit reasons.
If guys would just suck each other off there would be no divorces or problems. Everyone would get along fine!
Do you think that you can stop people from being gay by not allowing them to marry? This is discrimination. What ever happened to the separation of church and state?
Sounds like your mixing up the issues of gay marriage and Illegal immigration. I dont see how hardworking families would be affected by this.
also, I used to think that it was a bad idea for gays to get married, but when I couldent really come up with a logical reason this would be bad, and started asking, would this actually hurt me if gays could get married? I changed my view on the issue.
warning***long post ahead, may go slightly off topic***
I kinda thought back on that and maybe, one of the big reasons that people are scared of the idea (besides what "brainwashing" they may have gotten from church, family, and peers), is they are so used to the norm, you know, tradition, that allowing this may completely destroy society as we know it, you know, a domino effect that would change a lot of things. I dont see that happening for gay marriage, but when i compare it to the thoughts on some other big issues past and present, like, for example, the issue of slavery or Going Green, people argued for the most part, that completley changing the law could cause a collapse in the economy, or to erode the current societys behaviors and traditions.
Granted, things did change when slavery was passed, but it did nt completly ruin it as they feared, cause industrialization even got to them, and they could replace slaves with machines and cheap labor. (sometimes cheaper than it was to feed and care for slaves, and they needed less due to the machines).
of course, the industrial revolution was around the corner as well, so the time was just about right to end it. if they did it in the early 1800s, it may have very well crippled the economy for a long time.
Granted, just like with the issues of Slavery and Illegal immigration (or insert Environmental/human right issue here), there will always be idiots just spouting off what a[friend/church/family member/media/etc]tells them, or gives you no reason for it at all. and others may simply speak out using their emotions, but some people may have a good point
(even if you dont agree) for opposing your view on the issue
i personally think you can protest if u dont agree with something that you feel is not right go for it i also believe in a man and a woman can getmarried. Everytime i have a decision about how i feel about gay marriage because im christian people question my believes
That doesn't make any sense. You can raise your family however way you want to and not at all be effected by a gay couple being married. Everyone has rights and it's not fair that gays and lesbians aren't allowed to act on those rights. The bill of rights says that we are all equal but we aren't because of discriminatory views and actions. I have a right as a woman to marry a man or a woman if I wanted to, it wouldn't effect you or anyone else. Teenagers are killing themselves because of the discrimination against their sexual preference and it's a horrible thing to be happening. If your a christian then you should be against divorce too and I see nothing about divorce on here. Lastly, if your a christian you should be accepting to all not just a "select" few. Didn't they teach you that in church.
I am not against them getting married, I couldn't care less.
Although, wasn't marriage made by religion? And being homosexual is against the religion, right? So I can see why people would get upset about it.
To be honest, I think that if you don't belong to the religion that made marriage then you shouldn't complain about others like homosexuals being married.
