Is it normal i promise myself i'll go to bed early but never do

For instance, last night I went to bed at 2 AM even though I know I had to get up at 6, and tomorrow I'm supposed to get up at 7 and it's 2 AM and I'm still on the computer

The funny thing is, every single morning when I have to basically drag myself out of bed because I'm sooo tired, I promise myself that tonight I'll finally get a good night's rest, BUT night comes around and I somehow forget the promise I made myself in the morning, and the cycle continues

    "It's easier said than done" seems to apply here. Everyone tells themself they're going to do better next time, and that they've learnt from their mistake, but loads clearly don't and aren't strict enough with themselves. Normal.

    I do that. I know it's fucking stupid, but I do it again and again. And then I hit the wall on the nights before my days off, and sleep all day and that means I get nothing done.

    I have the same problem and trying to get it under control. I have to be up by 9am but also end up sleeping around 2am.

    Frankly it just comes down to pure discipline. You have to force yourself to go to bed at the right time.

    I'm hooked on the net too and my 'redline' is 1am. It'd be better if I made it 12am, but I feel like I'm missing out on 'fun' on the net. I think we're overstimulating those pleasure centers in our heads, the way gamblers at a casino do.

    I used to be very fit and turned heads. Now I'm out of shape and have a hard time incorporating the gym along with work.

    Soon I'll be starting a business-but that will actually allow me to stop working so I'm hoping to then start going to the gym hardcore with all my freed up time.

    Being a kid/teen was so much easier health-wise than being an adult.

    Every day I promise myself I'll wake up early but I never do.

    I go to bed whenever the fuck I want. Come to think about it, you may be making a good point here, perhaps that's what I'm doing wrong.

    Stop making promises to yourself and just do what you want. If you're going to do these things anyway, there's no point making yourself feel worse about them.

    That's my New Years resolution every year, to sleep at a reasonable time... never happens! Take some sleep inducing medicine. Really the only thing that helps. Or maybe exercise and eat a good dinner, but that is definitely the more difficult route for most, including myself...
