Is it normal i never worry about anything?

I do not understand why most people worry about stupid shit so much. It will either happen or it wont and worrying about it will solve nothing except create an annoyance for others. It seriously irritates me to listen to other people comment on how they're worried about something. People are always telling me things like "somebody might call the cops" or "but you will get a fine". Honestly most the time I don't even care because even if something bad happens it's usually not predictable.
I realize this is a good trait to have but I am curious how common it is because most people seem to be pansies about this.

Worry can be quite helpful if it actually makes you go out and do something. If you're worried you're going to have a heart attack, you could be motivated to take heart medicine or take some sort of preventative measures.

If you're worrying about things that can't be changed, then that is pointless, yeah. Nearly everyone still does it though.

I called them over an hour ago and they're still not here. I'm starting to worry.

I think you may be looking at it too simply. Worrying isn't a problem unless you make it one. The example of calling the cops is a little trite and quite frankly, just an act of paranoia. Perhaps you get over general worry quickly and move through it. Because if you never worried you would appear to be self-centered, insincere, and inconsiderate. So be careful with how quickly you move through it or you may alienate your friends.

Well you shouldn't worry about trifling stuff, I do but I know I shouldn't. However, what if someone you know was dying, you didn't worry about it, then they died? Then you'll wish you had emotionally prepared yourself.

    • What if someone I know is dying? I've been in that situation and currently my uncle is staying with me who has severe cancer and while I am hoping the very best for him worrying will make no difference in the situation. Worrying is nothing but a burdensome thought.

Sometimes it takes a while to deal with problems. I'm sure that as you read this you're subconcious will be dealing with your emotions, sometimes it just takes a while for it to manifest itself into concious thought and worry. I wish you're uncle well :)

It's not good to worry when there is no need.

Dalai Lama's quote says it all:

“If you have fear of some pain or suffering, you should examine whether there is anything you can do about it. If you can, there is no need to worry about it; if you cannot do anything, then there is also no need to worry.”

Worrying just causes more pain and damages your inner-peace.

I wish I was like that to an extent, I spend too much time worrying. From small things like after a conversation i will analyze everything I said over and over as i'm sure I said something that would make me sound like a freak, to getting slightly paranoid when someone knocks on my door in the evening. I'm a massive worryer

worrying about things is sometimes quite beneficial and necessary!! not always but things or duties that are very essential and which require concentration are worth worrying.. but yes worrying about small simple things or useless matters is not good for mental health .. so you must keep a balance ..

People deal with things in different ways and you're lucky if you're not prone to worrying as it can be very tiring and stressful.

I had to appear in court and I was worried I'd go directly to jail. I couldn't do anything about that but I could wear 3 pairs of socks and underwear just in case. So you see, worry can be good for you.

It's not normal. You're quite lucky to have this unusual disposition. Although I wonder if never worrying about things might result it not caring about health, achievement and happiness of others.

    • There's a big difference between worrying and having ambition. I just don't get why people waste their thoughts on the what if because it serves no purpose.

      • TweedRanger

Well, because its natural. If you have ambition to achieve something, is there not, ipso facto, a worry you won't?
I'm interested in the context from which you write and your background. It may validate your reasoning.

Yea whatever, worrying is a normal human emotion. Quite honestly, I believe you're fooling yourself, i bet you also had stuff that you worry about.

    • If I do I don't realize it. I have had plenty of bad things happen before but those things just happen. Worrying just seems like an illogical emotion. The only way I can see it change the future is in a bad way because its negative.
