Is it normal i'm terrified of adele's new album?

So, yeah, I was thinking. Both of Adele's albums have been present in important moments of my love life.

Her first two - 19 and 21 - came out, coincidentally, right at the time of the last two major breakups of the last two major relationships I had. I cried my eyes out to both of them.

Now, is it normal that I started dreading that she might come out with "23" and it jinx my love life?

I'm praying to God that she has found someone like you and her new album is more of a I'm-so-bloody-happy-I'm-in-love kind of record, so it blesses my pursuit of happiness at love, just in case.

What you think?

  • Yes it's normal for people to find patterns where none exist.

    • Aww but I'm being harsh. I admit, I've done the same.

One of the wonderful idiosyncrasies of being human I suppose :)

It's purely a coincidence that these things have happened. It's not Adele's fault.

The song Someone Like You came out right when me and my ex were breaking down. You have no idea how much torture that song caused me.

This is both an observation and an assumption so feel free to ignore it but I wondered if you're of a similarish age to Adele. If you are, then it's reasonable to assume the length of your relationships (on average) has parallels with hers. In which case, there's no real bearing between her album and your love life.

However, as people get older, relationships last longer so - in your case - there are good reasons to be hopeful. :)

    • Oh, bollocks! What if your assumption is incorrect and someone is nearly twice her age?! Then what?

Then it's only an assumption that works in certain circumstances. It's the reason I started by saying you should feel free to ignore it. I'll stand by what I said and still say you should ignore it.
