Is it normal i'm pissed as hell he only got 6 months

I saw on the news a guy was convicted of rape, and not one of the questionable he said she said cases. No this fucker was caught with witnesses, he found a girl passed out in an alley, stripped her and fucked her, until the witnesses walked by and saw him at which point he ran away.

Ok again this is not a questionable he said she said, or anything like that, he was caught fucking a passed out girl he found in an alley, there is no question that is RAPE

Caught in the act of Rape, he was convicted and sentenced to a grand total of 6 MONTHS. How the fuck does that happen?
If he serves his full sentence he'll be out before Christmas, and that's his worst case scenario, it's very likely that he'll get out even earlier than that, with good behavior and parole.

This shouldn't happen, he should be serving a few years at the bare minimum, but instead he get's 6 months. In what universe is this right? This is America for pete's sake not some back water third world country where women are valued below the family cat.
Hell normally I complain that people here are too sensitive about things, and regularly blow minor crap way out of proportion but when something that actually is serious and life destroying happens, this is what the punishment is, 6 months. 6 FUCKING MONTHS, the poor girl will probably be in therapy longer than that,

No one knows what happened between them at the party. No witnesses came forward to say she was genuinely afraid of him or didn't want anything to do with him. She could have very much wanted something to do with him and told him as much during the party before she consumed enough alcohol to be THREE times over the legal limit.

They were both drunk. College kids get drunk and have sex. Happens on every campus across America.

Have you ever had sex after drinking?

This kid did something stupid by attempting sex while she was passed out. His life is forever changed by this now.

If you want women to be "valued" more as you claim in your post perhaps assuming some responsibility for their actions will go a long way towards that. She wasn't forced to consume alcohol, and she wasn't drugged. She choose getting drunk.

"His life is forever changed by this now." Yeah, I guess being caught out a rapist is far more traumatizing than the girl being fucking RAPED.

There are police reports of the girl with bruises over her body, and witnesses have stated that he was cutting her while raping her. This wasn't just him sticking his dick in her, he was literally damaging her body and going extremely rough, if he hadn't been caught most likely the victim would of died if he had continued.

You're right, she wasn't forced to consume alcohol, but that doesn't mean she should be forced in getting fucking raped and beaten.

You know who should be taking responsibility? The rapist who raped and harmed her.

Teach men not to rape instead of telling women to be careful, because they wouldn't need to be careful if men DIDN'T FUCKING RAPE THEM. Stop shifting the blame on the victim and being an abuse apologist.

If a women is passed out or drunk that does not give men OR women the right to force sex onto them. No consent? No sex. Simple as that.

You're totally and completely wrong. You weren't there and neither were the witnesses throughout the entire night to see what their interactions actually were. She never expressed to ANYONE that she feared for her safety, if she had I'm sure that person would have come forward.

This woman was THREE times the legal limit. That is A LOT of alcohol. There is no way to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that these bruises you speak of (first time I've heard about her all beaten up and bruised BTW) by her own drunken state of inebriation.

You have no idea what she said or didn't say to him at all during the entire night. He acted immorally by continuing sex if she was so drunk as to be passed out.

That isn't rape. Rape is a violent act where the victim is screaming, crying, fighting back with all their strength.

Remember the Duke lacrosse team scandal a decade ago? Turns out it was a false accusation by a stripper who saw an opportunity to make money off some rich kids. Those guys had their public and personal lives destroyed.

Not saying who's right or who's wrong. I am saying that you learn to be skeptical, and that you get both sides of the story.

How is this relevant? You've dragged up ONE case of a false rape accusation without addressing any of the issues OP raised in this particular case.

"Both sides of the story" have been told and he was rightly convicted: it's the sentence that's the issue here and the fact that his father has publicly excused it - not denied it happened, but EXCUSED it.

Maybe you have the case solved, detective. I gave advice on being more skeptical, and gave an example to help illustrate my point. I don't think you've proved me wrong.
