Is it normal i'm mad for wasting my teens only having one crush?

I'm pretty mad that I had this monogamy idea drilled into my head because it caused me to waste my teens believing I could only have ONE crush at a time. I had to choose between Corey Haim and Corey Feldman when I could've had them both at once.

I think we need to teach our children that polyamory is normal so this doesn't happen to future generations.

    • I'm an idiot because I was brainwashed as a child to believe that relationships could only consist of one man and one woman and I came to disagree with this notion? Really? Explain please.

  • Well I do wish that I hadn't wasted my teen years, 6 years, devoted one a guy who did me wrong, if I had dated other guys I would have realized he didn't treat me right.

Good fucking luck with that polygamy crap. Monogamy is the only way relationships are supposed to be like. What the fuck is wrong with you.

    • If that's what you want for yourself, fine. Everyone is different. However, I think it's abundantly clear through thousands of years worth of observations on human behavior that monogamy isn't an innate human trait.

This is silly. You are being silly. Do you even realise that in most countries/states polygamy is illegal?

    • I said polyamory, not polygamy. But I do support polygamy provided it's not abusive and the participants are willing.

I worded the question in a silly way on purpose but the meat of it is just that I think we need to relax on the monogamy thing. It's not natural. If people choose to try to live that way, that's fine. But there's other types of relationships besides 1 man+1 woman. We have this idea that monogamy is the only way, the right way, hammered into our heads and very few question it even though we see the failures of attempted monogamy constantly every day. To have more than one partner at a time is viewed negatively. It shouldn't be.
