Is it normal i'm disgusted by long fingernails on men?

I live in a country in the Western world. Two of the men that I work with have long fingernails. And it's not just that they forgot to cut them, this is how they always are, about 5cm in length. Is it normal that I'm repulsed by this? We work in a customer service job, behind a cash register and I'm a bit embarrassed for my business when people are having their change handed back to them by clawed men. They are both smokers too so their nails are yellow.

    That is fucking disgusting. 5cm is a long length even for a female. Most companies have strict guidelines in regards to personal hygiene; I'd say these two goons breach that by a long shot!

    To many people it's considered a feminine trait, and a lot of people are troubled by the juxtaposition of feminine traits and male bodies.

      Good point. Also, it seems sexist from the stereotype that long nails are unhygienic, and females having long nails is more acceptable because females tend to be more hygienic than males.

      Personally, I find long nails on either gender yucky, especially if they are jagged and have dirt under them ...or is that just peanut butter? haha

      yeah there is probably some truth in that.

      I cut my nails religiously when I work in a job which requires me to handle cash and give change, because if you have nails there's a strong chance you're going to scratch your customer in a cash exchange with them.

    Male here, it is disgusting. You have to know there is over 100's of germs under toe nails, and finger nails. From them picking their noes, their ass.. ( lol if you do that ) touching dirt.. whatever the hell they do. It's gross

    I have seen deer guts, and all of that.. Long fingernails on a male friend is just sick.. Pisses me off when friends don't cut their nails, or atleast clean them.

    The thing with nails is that they're just like beards. If a guy doesn't shave for a while he'll grow a beard and mustache whether he's trying to go for that look or not. Similarly, men just don't care about fingernails. They might go a while without cutting them and all of a sudden their fingers look like they belong on a girl. Don't think they're trying to have long nails or a lot of facial hair, a lot of times guys are really lazy and forget to take care of their hygiene

    I have long nails on my right hand for guitar. Though I've never gotten to 5cm. Don't think I have ever got past 2cm.

      Yeah, I suspect that for one of the two of these people, that is the case as he is a musician and only one of his hands has long fingernails. The other just doesn't seem to believe in personal hygiene and grooming.

    You should see one of my friend's hands. He bites his fingernails, so they are all insanely short... However, he leaves his pinky finger alone... So that fingernail alone is like 8 cm... it is a disgusting claw, haha
