Is it normal i'm angry about calls to pray for orlando victims?

I feel as if I'm going to explode with anger if I read or hear one more mention of prayers for the victims, survivors, family and community of the Orlando massacre.

I don't want to hear about the spiritual masturbation of wellmeaning but facile people. Prayers won't help the dead or the living in this or any other situation and of course, the irony is that the holy book of the vast majority of people who pray specifically says that gays should be put to death: if not believing me, check out the book of leviticus in the old testament.

I'd like to write more about this but I can't right now ....

Why don't you learn to separate your spiritual self from your ego and practice empathy for those affected by the event? Set religion aside. You have a chance to prove your worth as a humane being right now. Anger is not a positive or healthy expression I hope you can set it aside for your own wellbeing x

Oh I do love being patronised and lectured! I DO have huge empathy for those affected by the event. Anger is neither positive nor negative: it's an emotion and can lead to either negative or positive action: for example, check out the history of the Stonewall riots which kickstarted the Gay Liberation Movement.

Yes, it seems fairly useless. But it shows solidarity and that may provide comfort to victims!. Isn't that something of worth?

False comfort is no comfort at all and therefore worthless. Praying may make the person doing it feel better with the false belief h/she has actually done something useful

To you, perhaps. Ask some of the victims families. They're what matter, not you. Hard to believe, I know.

Try taking another perspective for once. It's really not that hard.

I'm an atheist but citing the old testament is of same relevance as comparing Tamagochis with the Xbox One S, there are many ways to bash modern religion but citing those outdated pieces of paper is not a fair game.

Until bible believers disavow their bibles I'll continue to point out its inconsistencies, rigid intolerance and advocacy of murder

Most bible believers do not even read or own the old testament, they ''read'' the modern version of the bible.

It's easy to fix. Get rid of your tv, internet, newspapers, magazines and anything else that might offend your delicate sensibilities princess.

I think it best not to get so worked up about something that's out of your control. I mean this in the best way possible.

If you are a Christian you should think/believe they are all in heaven. So they are in a much better place, I mean whats better than heaven right?

Christian's aren't joking about Jesus are they? Or Heaven?

Do Christian's go to Heaven or not when they die?
Heaven is supposed to be good right?

Do you feel bad that people went to Heaven?
