Is it normal i'm always having to figure stuff out for people?

People are so dumb! Almost any time I have business to do somewhere, I end up dealing with someone who can't do their own damn job. They can't find solutions or put 2 and 2 together! I have to help them!

is it normal to have to tell people how to do their own job?

It bothers me when I am having to do something for someone that there are clear instructions for. Sometimes I think people just get used to others having to do things for them out of obligation or because it's easier, so they just never bother doing shit for themselves.

I would help everyone with their jobs at my last workplace. I was qualified for everything because I caught on so quickly so if anyone had a question or problem, they'd come to me first. Even on my days off at home, I'd get phone calls from work asking about things. They were smart as well but there are just some things they'd need me for. I've got keen observational skills so they knew I probably had the answer for just about anything they had to ask. When I was moving on from that job, they all joked about how they were still going to call me if they had questions about where something was. It felt nice to have people come to me for help. It didn't bother me at all.

I have to show my boss how to use the postage machine nearly every time he uses it. He has finally stopped stamping the back of the envelope.

Yes it's normal. I'm always helping out people with their essays, research etc what seems straight forward to me is like a puzzle to them sometimes it feels great to be the one always in the know but it can get infuriating when you're explaining something so simple and the person doesn't get it and you have to repeat what you said again and again.

It seems like in a lot of businesses, there's a small handful of people who know what they're doing, and everybody else is pretending.

My parents used to work in advertising as graphic designers. My mum had a boss whose desk had a window right behind him. Whenever somebody asked for something from him, he acted like he was very busy and stressed. He didn't realise that everybody in the office could see his solitaire game reflected in the window.
