Is it normal i'm a messy teenager, will i grow out of it?

I'm just generally a messy person.. I mean, at school, I can keep my notes in order, and if it gets messy I clean it out within a few weeks, but at home, my room is pretty messy... Tbh, I think I'm on the computer too much.. I watch movies a lot.. And I think that might be the problem.. It isn't like, sooo bad, I'm not a hoarder.. But will I grow out of the messiness??

You won't grow out of it unless you choose to clean and organize your room periodically. For example, I clean my apartment every month. But do dishes and laundry on a weekly basis. I also have an assigned drawer for anything I don't know where to put. And I clean the sink and the bathtub whenever it starts to want care. I don't want my friends to come over and be disgusted.

Most of us go through phases in our lives with time management. It is common to have organizing/cleaning low on the priority list.

Sure, I'm a teen too and am completely messy. You can't even walk in my room lol. It's probably not something you'd grow out off unless you made an effort too change, as being messy could just be in your nature, I know its in mine.

  • Most of my "messy" friends grew up to be messy adults. If you're messy now, the odds are that you're going to be a messy adult, unless the shame of your own filth becomes too much to bare.

I think what got me out of that was taking pride in "my" apartment. Sure I had a room at my parents house but once I moved out I actually wanted things to be nice and tidy for when people come over.

Depends, if you're lazy then you probably won't.

But if you aren't lazy, then you will think more about tidiness when you're older
