Is it normal i'm a loner?

It's hard for me to make friends. I don't know what to talk about and I'm usually too straightforward and people dislike that.
I haven't made a friend in years... And I almost cry and feel awful when I see those posts about best friends and unrelatble things.
I'm disliked at school because I try hard, answer the questions teachers ask and give my opinion. I also try to be nice to others smiling ocasionally, trying small talk but it seems I'm just overall dislikeable.
It's tyring and I've gotten used to being alone. And actually, I find it now comfortable but I'm hoping to make friends one day who don't judge and see beyond superifical matters.

Any loners here? Suggestions?

I thoroughly enjoy solitude. Always have. I do feel the need to socialize now and then, but after a few hours, I retreat back to the comfort of my nest.

I just need a friend to cuddle with when I feel the need and talk about life, random bullshit, and matters concerning societies flaws and stupid social norms. I honestly have no life but if we were to go to the same school I would be your friend if you'd have me

This site is full of loners. Look how many responses you got. Been a loner since my divorce 30 years ago. I'm happy now because I really don't give a fuck what people think of me. Including the longtime members of this site. So charli.m go fuck yourself.

They do speak louder than words.I don't think anyone has the something that could be said that will fix the situation. Not that the comments dont have good advice.Including my own. Look you just have to try stepping out of your comfort zone. Change up your daily program get out of the same thing where its easy for you to get by and ok with it. It meaning being a loner. It will only cause you to warp into a deeper denial of what could be. So dont be afraid or scared to just be you. Fuckem if they dont except you or like you. Its there loss.step out step up and just be you. There really isn't such thing as normal.keep your head up and move forward

I'm in the same situation but thinking about it, there are people willing to talk to me, I just need to be more open with people. Maybe try that, relax and don't worry about starting a convo with someone :)

Ever since I've joined independent studies (which is basically like being homeschooled) it's really simplified my life. I've lost friends over time but that's alright. I really appreciate the free time I have to pursue new hobbies and whatnot. Being a loner like myself gives you time to discover yourself and avoid negative influences.

College was a lonely time for me too. I still don't have any friends, but social media like this site can help. Here at IIN I just try to relate to people. Some people hate me, so I just tell them to fuck off.

What's about your parents? Aren't they the one who with you all the time and listening to your problem? I don't make any friend in high school, but in college where is open-minded mature people there is chance people will understand the situation were in. It's really unhealthy to have no one you can share conversation with, but what you are doing right now is giving message in a blog so random stranger can read how you feel. That's a good step to open up to people, however everyone will have different opinion about you. In this world you cannot trust anybody, I wish the best to find a suitable and trustworthy companion

I'm sorry to hear that from the environment you were in. People now today don't give any love and mercy especially workplace. I know is sound weird that talking to a cat, dog or a favorite pet can help a little bit put in ease on mind. If you have spiritual life live in religion then is the best choice that God Almighty is the comforter you can talk with the one you can trust.

I am too but it wasn't really my preference. Life simply happened and my path led me away from people/bad influences. I'm hoping to meet special friends in the future cause it's rough to always be alone
