Ok so this guy i'm kinda seeing is 31, and i'm 18. We aren't in a real relationship (and we don't want to be), it's just sex and a really good friendship. He's real sweet to me and is always encouraging me about my goals and all that, and I'm suuuper comfortable around him. We have a ton in common and I love being around him as well.
I would say I'm mature for my age. I mean I love politics, i want to pursue a career in that field. (Not that everyone who loves politics is mature, but you know what I mean)
I'm just asking this because I've searched around isitnormal and everyone is so brutal when talking about an age gap like this, and i just want to know what people think about my specific situation. Thanks!

The age gap is something to think about, but no big deal. I've dated women in their early to mid-20's, a few in their mid to upper 50s, and in between. It's a matter of mindset and how you get along. There are some things that you just don't have in common, but, if you're sexually compatible..Go for it. I was with a female business group friend, who's 53, and probably the hottest sex I've ever had.

I feel if you take morals and ethics people often adhere to out of the picture, it doesn't really matter. I mean, at what age is anyone allowed to do anything? I'm 23 and I really don't give a fuck what anyone does, I'm not their uncle.

    The terms "teenager" and "adult" are not mutually exclusive. You can be both. Teenager just means your age ends in teen, 13-19, not that you're not adult yet.
    
    But, yeah, no, obviously there's a mental and emotional component to sex. The idea that an adult should be able to have sex with anybody who's physically read is insane. Even more insane than calling somebody "old fashion" because they disagree with you, when your views are literally the most old fashion you can get. This foolishness about girls having sex as soon as they're physically ready is the way things were thousands of years ago. We've evolved since then, thankfully. It's normal, but just remain on your guard. Think about why it's just sex and friendship (which is basically the components of a relationship) and not official. Consider if he has a wife and wants you on the side. Have fun, enjoy your time, but with any FWB relationship remind yourself that you are capable of being loved, and this relationship isn't the best you'll be able to get.

He sounds very nice and supportive and like he really cares about you and it's just rare to find someone like that so cherish him. He loves you and wants you to be happy. The only time I would say that there's something wrong with an age gap like that is when someone is taking advantage of the other person in a relationship, but this situation seems perfectly fine.

In my oponion, it just sounds like you're a sugar-baby. Of course sugar daddies/babies have different arrangements; however, in your case, sex for companionship/friendship/guidance. I feel that if you were to one day stop the sex entirely and just continue the friendship based on your "old soul," and shit, he would probably lose interest.
