Is it normal i look at an old flame's pictures?

I dated a man and it didn't work out. We dated for 3 months, in that time he introduced me to his family and his work buddies and well as his other groups of friends. I had taken a job out of state for the summer (He knew before he told me how he felt) and while we had no agreements of any kind as to what we were when I was leaving; he kept swearing "I'll be here when you get back"
In that summer he never called and dated another girl who was known to be just plain mean to her boyfriends. However I had found out that he regretted everything and still wants me. He has put forth a lot of effort to show he was sorry and cares about me...but I don't look at him the same so I chose to not be with him. In spite of this I can look at his pictures, and for some reason they comfort me. I'm not sure why they do but is it normal?

    Absolutely normal, especially if you haven't dated anyone else since then. Looking at old pictures can be part of the healing process. You're remembering the good times you had with him. Eventually you'll be able to leave those memories where they belong--in the past.

      I also broke it off because I am going back to school and certain things that initially never bothered me, now upset me (Like not calling back right away, etc). I didn't want all those emotions interfering with my up and coming career (I'm a senior in college).
      I haven't had much time to date and not sure if I should just yet. I want him out of my head before I go to another man

    I think so but I wouldn't really know I got upset and deleted all photos of my ex. I regret it as I know that eventually i'll forget her face so yeah. I think its normal

    I also want to point out that he tried to show me he was sorry since August and around December I finally realized I couldn't do it. So it hasn't been a year yet, but I'm not sure why I can't shake this
