Is it normal i listen to my own music more than anything else?

I'm a musician and I compose and record songs. I like listening to my own music and do so regularly. I even listen to my own stuff more than anything else.
Every time I write a new song, I will play it back over and over to the point where it will irritate other people. I especially will do this while driving. I seem to not get sick of listening to myself no matter how much I do.

I am ambivalent about this one. On one hand it makes sense you like it best. It would be strange if you did not like your music a lot.

Yet it is also unusual that you are not drawn to your influencing artists at least equally.

Maybe I feel that way because my preferences are so very diverse that I cannot imagine only wanting to hear one type of music. However, I know what it is like to adore a particular band/track so much that it is on repeat for ages.

Sounds like you're an artist whose proud of his work. It's normal that you like your music more than anything else you can find, because duh, you made it. It's catered to your exact preferences. It's slightly arrogant that you don't get tired of listening to the sound of your own voice (I assume you sing). I would just advise you not to play it so much around friends and family who've made it clear to you that they're tired of it.

What type of music (genre) do you make?

I think this is somewhat normal. You compose music that pertains/appeals to you, more than likely. It speaks to you more do than other songs which weren't written by or for you. Some artists are very proud of their craft. I'm sometimes proud of my work. I often forget this, but when I was a child I composed a song for the piano. It was cautious song that had an oriental flavour to it. I really liked it, but for some reason, I never got around to writing the notation down and then I ended up forgetting the second part, consequently.

Haha, I kinda do this as well sometimes... Only, not around other people (as I'm still a closet narcissist) and I do get sick of it.

I think it's normal to be proud of things you've done.
And with music, the whole always seems greater than the sum of the parts, so it's especially easy to be impressed by your own efforts. Just remember that it's special to you because you created it - the opinion of others may vary!! :P
