I didn't realise that religion dictated your taste in music.

      Some religions ban music outright.

Not all christian metal is that way. Have you heard of Unblack metal? It's basically black metal with lyrics about Christianity. ''Cries Of The Past'' by Underoath is one of the best Unblack metal albums I have ever listened to. You should give it a try.

When I was a Christian lined up with when I was a goth. I loved Kiss and Avenged Sevenfold and lots of weird ass music. So I'd say you're good.

If you find a goth that listens to pat boone you should get married immediately.

  • There are plenty of Christian metal bands about

Underoath and Oh,sleeper being the best of the Christian genre

Did you know that underoaths 2008 album 'define the great line' was the biggest selling Christian album in America for that year?

Oh sleeper are one of the most brutal metal bands in today's climate.

I'm not a Christian. I'm just fucking awesome

Oh, Sleeper is brutal? Since when? They're average post-hardcore band, nothing more. Cannibal Corpse, Mortician, Devournment - that's what brutal metal is.

Anyway, Underoath is one of my favourite bands. They are (or were, because they're disbanding in 2013) not a Christian band. As the vocalist Spencer Chamberlain said, Christianity is the "backbone of our lives, especially in the way that we handle certain things, but it’s not so much the backbone of our lyrics. It’s not like every song is a lesson from the Bible or something. It’s just normal life struggles."

However, in 1999 and 2000 they released two Unblack metal (black metal with lyrics about Christianity) EPs, Act Of Depression and Cries Of The Past, which are also influenced by death metal and post-hardcore. I'd recommend OP to give them a listen.

      • I think the vocalist from oh sleeper sounds more 'brutal' in conviction than every single old skool death metal band combined. I'd seriously recommended giving their second and third albums a listen. Just my opinion.

Metal and black death shouldn't be listened to by christians as it is the devils music and christians are the light of jesus christ

I love Jesus. I love hard rock, metal, punk, etc.. I am smart enough not to identify with every single lyric of every single song. You're normal and you're awesome.

You have used a word that divides yourself from other persons who also believe in the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. This word also divides yourself from other persons who also believe in the teachings of Abraham, persons who have other religious beliefs, as well as persons who are not religious.

Why are you creating divisions in society?

I am your friend, I wish to help you, but you have divided yourself from me and many others.

Did you know that the head member of Slayer is a devout Roman Catholic?

I wouldn't say that Tom Araya is really the "head member"; he's just the singer. King & Hanneman are really the brains behind the operation.

Sure. I like Abba and Erasure and the Pet Shop Boys and I'm not gay. I also like the hymn "Abide With Me" and I don't believe in God.

I don't believe for a second that anyone who isn't gay likes Abba! :-P

Oh, please! Dancing Queen? That's the straightest song ever. It even has Queen in the title and everyone knows queens are girls. :P
