So I do have a girlfriend (we've been dating for over a year) but there's this really beautiful girl coworker of mine that I can't stop noticing! We joke around and tease each other at work, and we even overtly flirt with each other sometimes. She prefers men, which worries me somewhat, but she does like women too (just not as much.) My question is, is it normal that I have such a huge crush on my coworker even though I have a girlfriend already? I feel guilty about it... but when I'm at work, all I think about is my pretty coworker. I don't know what to do! I don't want to hurt my girlfriend's feelings, but this is a pretty substantial crush already. And things are even more complicated because I'm not out of the closet, so I couldn't have a very normal relationship with my coworker anyway. My current relationship is very secretive by necessity.

    I guess it's really about hurting your present GF because of your lust.
    A workplace affair is never a good idea. It's doubtful that you'll be able to remain in the closet, if you have an affair with this coworker and if it goes bad, you surely won't.
    Would "coming out" ruin your career?
    My advice is to think this through very carefully and think with your head, not your libido.

      No, everyone at work knows I'm gay! It's just my family that doesn't know, cuz they think gays are equivalent to murderers (not joking.) my family's church preaches anti-gay sermons almost every week....

      Well, I didn't know if I should feel guilt about it or something.... I do feel a tiny bit bad but I can't help the flirting, it's so fun and thrilling! And the mood at my job is usually pretty flirty anyway, it's not just me.

        Guilt is a useless emotion. There is no positive side to feeling guilty. If you do, or don't do something out of guilt, your actions are motivated by the negative (relieving guilt), not by a rational choice.
