Is it normal i have pierced ears but earrings give me infections?

I pierced my ears. It was years back now. I did not have a professional do it. I did the needle in ear thing. From what I looked up about piercings it said doing it yourself is better. It said that piercing guns don't do it right and does unnecessary damage cartilage. Anyways I stopped wearing them. I can wear it on the right ear since it always gets infected and starts oozing white stuff.

    You're talking about your ear lobes, right? Once you mentioned cartlige it through me off because there isn't cartlige in your ear lobes.
    Anyway, you're probably getting infections because the jewelry could be made out of cheap material, or maybe you're allergic to the material.

    My ear lobes will get irritated if I wear earrings too often (even if they're made with hypoallergenic metal). Not sure why. I just try not to wear earrings on consecutive days, although it sucks.
