Is it normal i hate the word "skinny"?

Everyone is using the word skinny nowadays like it's some kind of compliment. Lean and thin can be compliments but why would anyone want to be called skinny? Some people even say skinny when they mean "not fat"

When someone calls me skinny I can't help but go "No, no, those are abs, I'm not skinny" or maybe I'll wear the right shirt and hear "That shirt's the best, you look skinny in it."

Skinny, skinny, skinny. I HATE that word and I wish people didn't use it unless someone was ACTUALLY skinny (underweight or malnourished) in the correct way it's not a compliment.

    Never thought of it that way, but I get what you're saying. I actually kinda agree now that you say that. I wish I was thinner, but not malnourished.

    I *am* skinny :(

    And when people say it as a compliment I get pissed off at them, because in reality I am underweight, which is no healthier than being overweight.

    It just means thin. Some people are very skinny. Skronny I think would be malnourished but skinny is like thin.
